Radioactive Material Stolen in Mexico - 9 States on High Alert
Truck carrying radioactive material have been stolen in Tlaquepaque, a town in Jalisco state of Mexico. We don’t know who stole the truck but Nine Mexican States have been placed on high alert.
The important things that we must know is that ISIS or the drug cartels can use the radioactive material to make what the Mexican government call “dirty bomb”. What if ISIS stole the truck? Maybe the drug cartels?
According to RT “In December 2013, thieves – apparently unaware of the contents of their heist – stole a vehicle containing medical equipment with highly radioactive cobalt-60, a material that could be used to produce a “dirty bomb,” according to the IAEA, the UN’s nuclear watchdog.”
The Interior Department said in a statement the truck was stolen Sunday in Tlaquepaque, a town in Jalisco state. “This was industrial equipment that included Iridium-192… which can be dangerous for people if it is taken out of its container,” the statement said.
