Theology and Politics from a Conservative, Biblical Perspective

In our previous post in this series – Part 2 – we zeroed in on Isaiah 9, specifically the section that deals with the prophetic discourse regarding the coming birth of Messiah/Savior (from Isaiah’s point of view, which was still far future). We discussed the fact that in certain ways, not only did Isaiah prophesy about the upcoming birth of Jesus, but also foretold events regarding what has become known as the Millennial Kingdom where Jesus will rule with a rod of iron from Jerusalem over all the nations of the world. It will be at that time, when Israel will take its intended position of greatest of all nations, fulfilling the remaining promises found throughout the Bible.

It is important to remember that when this occurs, Israel will be inhabited only by those completely sold out to the Lord. They will be completely and fully dedicated to Him, His Word, and His reign over them. Unlike the generational Israel that has always been largely made up of rebellious individuals and who have always found ways to serve themselves by seeking other gods, the Israel of the Millennium will have no other god before it. They will fully serve and obey Jesus and Him only. It will be a final “remnant” of Israel that will be refined through the purging fires of the coming Tribulation period.

Throughout Isaiah (as well as Jeremiah and other prophets), though God speaks very harshly to Israel, a nation that continues its wayward path where God is concerned, He always holds out an olive branch to the nation. He always says “if” they will turn and obey, He will return to them. This they will do with a final remnant of Jews who will turn in faith to Jesus during the tremendous persecution of the upcoming era known as the Tribulation. Though many will continue to rebel and fall away from God, God will fulfill His promises to cull from the Jews living at that future time, a people who will be 100% faithful to Him and His purposes. God will be vindicated and He will be for the sake of His holy Name. Nothing can stop that anymore than choosing to be an atheist stops God from existing.

With that said, let’s move onto Isaiah 11. Depending upon your translation of the Bible, your chapter heading may have one of these titles:

  • The Righteous Reign of the Branch (ESV, NASB)
  • The Branch From Jesse (NIV)
  • The Reign of Jesse’s Offspring (NKJV)
  • The Peaceful Kingdom (RSV)

The idea here is that Isaiah is looking forward to a time when there will be actual peace. If we consider the fact that there has really been no point in history when the world was completely peaceful at any one time, the concept of a world at peace is difficult to consider. It is what people have wanted, worked for, and sought for generations.

The defunct League of Nations was supposed to accomplish world peace. It failed and was replaced by the United Nations, which has as its stated purpose to help create peace and peaceful solutions to the world’s problems. It has also failed and will continue to do so.

It is similar to the concept of Socialism. Many on the Left believe this system of government is what will fix all the things that are broken in society. Unfortunately, there has never been even one case of socialism working over the long haul. Venezuela today is a prime example of just how badly things can go. Of course, people on the Left offer the excuse that it isn’t Socialism that has ruined Venezuela, but a corrupt government. That’s begging the question and proves the unreliability of systems that depend upon humanity to dole out things in equal measure so that everyone gets the same thing. In the end, no one works for anything. It is simply provided and because of that, the benefits are lost while the desire to work is also set aside.

When we visited Europe not long ago, it was interesting to see some of the apartment buildings that were at one time, Communist. The desire of the Communists was to ensure that everyone had exactly the same thing. When they went into Hungary for example and took over, a person who had 20 acres of farmland had that land simply taken and doled out to others so that everyone had a share. The landowner who bought and paid for and labored over those 20 acres was not given anything by the Communist government. He was simply robbed of the land that he had originally bought and worked. Much of his land was simply given to others who did not pay for it or work it. Do you think those folks valued that land as the original landowner had done?

There are also many examples of those high in the Communist Party living high off the hog while the average person waited in long lines to buy one roll of toilet paper or a loaf of bread. While the concept of Socialism might have good intentions, it cannot nor ever work because of the constant potential of sinful humanity wanting more than others. No governmental system like Socialism or Communism can ever remove the sinful desires of people and without that happening, these systems will always be taken advantage of by people who are motivated by greed.

People are sinful. We have sin natures. Even Christians who have placed their faith in Jesus and have exchanged our filthiness for His righteousness (positionally) as Paul notes in 2 Corinthians 5:20-21.

Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ: Be reconciled to God. God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

In spite of the fact that for the authentic Christian, when God looks at us, He sees the righteousness of Jesus, which has been imputed to our accounts, not our filth. This borrows on the fact that at some point in the future, our sin nature will be completely excised from us and there will no longer be even a hint of sin within us. It will at that point be impossible for us to sin. This is not the case now though.

If Christians can continue to sin, then how much more do the unsaved and unregenerate continue to sin? Greed is one of the biggest problems people have to deal with in life and it is cause for all sorts of problems in this world on a continual basis. The belief that imposing some system of government on society that will give everyone the same things is ridiculous if corrupt and sinful people are in charge of it. It simply cannot work and the fact that it never has worked is proof to people who can think critically.

There is coming a time though when the “root of Jesse” will reign over this world. Isaiah 11 clearly discusses a time in the future when true peace will prevail and it will prevail because of the fact that this “root of Jesse” will reign on the throne physically in Jerusalem over all nations. As we’ve discussed before, even during this time, sin will exist because people who have survived the Tribulation without dying will go into this time where Jesus reigns supreme. These human beings will continue to have the sin nature though saved and completely regenerated with the new life in Christ. This is why Jesus will need to rule with a “rod of iron” (Psalm 2:9, 27; Revelation 2:27; 12:5, etc.).

1 There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse,
and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit.
2 And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him,
the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and might,
the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
3 And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord.
He shall not judge by what his eyes see,
or decide disputes by what his ears hear,
4 but with righteousness he shall judge the poor,
and decide with equity for the meek of the earth;
and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth,
and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked.
5 Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist,
and faithfulness the belt of his loins. (Isaiah 11:1-5; ESV)

The passage above is very clear, though some commentators prefer an allegorical interpretation. Doing so muddies the waters and of course, changes the actual meaning into something it is not. Isaiah 11:1-5 highlight several facts.

  1. A “shoot” from the stump of Jesse is coming
  2. This “shoot” or “branch” will bear fruit
  3. God’s Spirit will rest on Him in full measure making Him the perfect Judge
  4. This “shoot” shall utterly delight in the fear of God (something Christians are supposed to do as well)
  5. This “shoot” will judge perfectly because His judgments won’t be based on:
    1. sight
    2. hearing
  6. His judgments will be based solely on righteousness, something that is desperately missing from society
  7. He will deliver judgments in equity all the time and will never take a bribe or judge wrongly
  8. His judgments will be quick and final when dealing with the “wicked” (v. 4b)
  9. Everything about Him will be righteous

The above descriptions are not allegory but perfectly described Jesus in His ascended, glorified state. It is this Jesus who will return to this earth one day and set up His Kingdom. He is connected to and comes from “Jesse’s stump,” King David, who was the first of Israel’s kings to pursue righteousness. The Bible describes King David as a man after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22).

Isaiah 11 is a prophetic chapter that involves Messiah. Jesus will be the physical embodiment of this prophecy at some point in the future. He will return to this earth (and won’t the world be surprised?!), to bring to close the time of judgment known as the Tribulation. He will then set up His Kingdom where He will physically reign on earth, from His earthly father King David’s throne from Jerusalem, and He will do so for one thousand years.

Isaiah 11 has legitimate and literal ramifications for this world. It is not some pie in the sky allegory that can mean whatever the reader would like it to mean or is comfortable with, but it has dramatic repercussions for this world. In spite of the evil that persists now, there is a time coming when…

6 The wolf shall dwell with the lamb,
and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat,
and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together;
and a little child shall lead them.
7 The cow and the bear shall graze;
their young shall lie down together;
and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 The nursing child shall play over the hole of the cobra,
and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder’s den.
9 They shall not hurt or destroy
in all my holy mountain;
for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord
as the waters cover the sea. (Isaiah 11:6-9 ESV)

In short, there will be a day when righteousness, not evil, will rule. Evil will be the exception and it will be handled by King Jesus immediately. Clearly, we are not there yet and in front of us we can expect God’s judgment to pour out on the world. On the other side of that, however, there will be peace; long-lasting peace.

Until we meet again I pray that God will open your eyes to show you how blessed you are in Him.

    2Thess 2:10..because they received not THE LOVE of the truth, that they might be saved. 11. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

    123’s of true Christianity v popular & damnable heresies

    #1 “ONE” not triune: ……PART 4 & 5 HOW MANY GODS ARE THERE FOR THE ONE GOD TO TALK TO?? Who was Jesus praying to??!?…. The real question should be … How does having multiple different persons keep this one God/being/entity from praying to himself?! (The trinitarian “schizophrenic” “god-head”) The Trinitarians want to have their cake and eat it too as the saying goes. On the one hand they need to say they only worship one indivisible God being/ entity but on the other hand they feel the need for some reason to keep Jesus or God from praying and talking to himself by dividing him up into different persons!?! It never occurs to them that that since there is only one indivisible God to pray too and Jesus is that indivisible God come in the flesh that he would need to talk to himself as to show us how to live, suffer, pray and die for our/ flesh) benefit not his!?!….. So while Trinitarians are quick to complain that God was not talking to himself at Christ baptism or in Gen “let us” they ignore the logical demands of their own theology! If Jesus is the ONE GOD in flesh and the Father is the SAME ONE GOD in heaven then Trinitarianism demands THE ONE GOD is talking to HIMSELF the same “being”! Claiming that God is multiple different persons as the reason for why God is not talking to himself (because God is three different “selfs”) only demonstrates that what they really worship is in fact not a ONE GOD who talks to himself but three different god “selfs”/ and they all talk to each other! When they speak about who God was talking and praying to, they are quick to say “the other person, NOT HIMSELF!” But if you ask them how many gods do they pray to then they will say “ONLY ONE”!?! They expect you to believe that those three different persons are THE ONE GOD-BEING” which is like calling three different cars “THE ONE VEHICLE” (they are text book examples of prov 26:12)
    Mark 12:28…Which is the first commandment of all? 29. …Hear, O Israel; THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD: 30. And ………..this is the first commandment….. 31. And the second is….. IF YOU CAN’T GET THIS “FIRST OF ALL COMMANDMENTS” RIGHT, ALL THE REST OF YOUR “FAITH” AND PREACHING ON LOVE & SIN IS MOOT

    “WHO” it was (what person) that came “IN THE FLESH”, IS THE DETERMINING FACTOR IN WHAT IT MEANS TO BE “ANT-CHRIST”! Even Islam claims Jesus was the Jewish messiah/Christ who was to come in the flesh) they all deny “WHO” it was (what person) that came (to be the Christ) in the flesh!?!…….To deny the father is to deny the son because they are one and the same person that came in the flesh!
    JOHN 14: 8-20 ….Note Isaiah 9:6. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: …: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, … the everlasting Father ….The son, father/Holy Spirit are all the same person, NOT like two different persons working together even as “one flesh” ….The “oneness” between Christ and the father is not comparable to a man & his wife, for only a fool would say “When you have seen me you have seen my wife, how sayest thou then, Shew us your wife?” Notice they asked to see THE FATHER and the response was Jn 14:9 ..“HAVE I BEEN SO LONG time with you, and yet hast THOU NOT KNOW ME, Philip…..Now image some fool trying to claim that statement if you asked to see his wife!?!!? You want to see the FATHER but have I been with you but you don’t know me!?!?!
    Jn 14 continued….…………..17. Even THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH; (Jn 14:6 I AM the way, THE TRUTH,) whom the world cannot receive, .. for HE DEWLLETH WITH YOU, (present tense/standing next to them in the flesh) and SHALL BE IN YOU… (future tense “In them”) 18. I will not leave you comfortless: I WILL COME TO YOU (future tense “In them”) Note: The spirit of Christ is the sprit of God and the holy spirit that is why Christ said “I will come to you” (to comfort them, because Christ is the comforter). The spirit was standing next to them in flesh… ….latter it would come to them to be inside of them (inside of their flesh as the spirit we are given)…..that is why. he would send the spirit…… However, Jesus himself here makes the point that the same person who was the HOLY SPIRIT that would come was standing next to them but lets them know “I will come to you again to be Inside of you”
    The whole point to Gal 3:20.a mediator is NOT A MEDIATOR OF ONE, (HEIS) but GOD IS ONE. (HEIS) again, point blank, identifies the number of persons of God! The “but” points out the contrast between multiple persons in a mediation party v the “one” of God. God is not like a mediation party with multiple different persons. …..”the express image of his person” ( the person of God; singular not plural).Any attempt to lay claim otherwise is willful ignorance and delusional nonsense
    TRINITARIANS CONFESS JESUS /THEY ARE NOT POLYTHEIST BUT ARE MONOTHEIST LIKE A LIAR & THIEF WHO “CONFESS” THEY DO NOT LIE OR STEAL The simple fact is that just because you confess or deny that you are in an adulterous relationship and denounce all forms of adultery has nothing to do with whether or not it is in fact adulterous! .. …A rose by any other name is still just a rose AND calling it a water lily does not change the definition of what a water Lilly or a rose is either!…No, Trinitarians confess & preach literally …”ANOTHER JESUS” 2 Cor 11:4
    - Like a thief in your house caught stealing your things insisting he was not there stealing “I CONFESS I am NOT stealing”. You just do not “properly understand” what he is doing/saying. Further, since you never had a “proper understanding” of what he is doing/saying you have no business accusing him since you do not even know what you are talking about in the first place. It is with and in your own ignorance that you base your “false accusations” & “ad homonym attacks” against him…… Ridiculous of course it is ……2Thess 2:11; Titus 1:16; 2Tim 3:5;
    …… should have given you a hint, harking back to Satan in The garden…God said you will die…Satan comes along and states no you will be more WISE……today .God said He is one; but Satan’s children come along and say no three is more WISE and humble in the face of God’s grandeur only “a mystery” that can be understood “in faith”. God uses head and right arm to explain the distinctions between father and son.. However, the Trinitarian heretics say to the effect: “NO, that is just a figure of speech, or that is not what God really means. What God is really saying is that God is three different persons”. Fools, hypocrites and blind guides, God said he was One and by your traditions and vain imaginations have taken the words of God and made them of no effect, refashioning God into your image!

    #2 SECOND COMING Thou Fool! “I come quickly” so “Hold fast
    till i come”… NOT …“in another 2000 yrs I might be coming soon any time now, so hold fast”!?! …those that deny the second coming of Christ in the war of AD70 are practicing a damnable heresy in denying the lord that bought them ( 2Peter 2:1-2 ;2Tim 4:8/ you cant love an appearing you deny& the context is the 2nd coming not the first)… Mat 7:23..”I NEVER KNEW YOU” …..Mat 10:33. But whosoever shall deny me before men……..sound familiar?…. If I said I am coming to your house in this generation when these things happen but no one knows the day or hour what fool would think I might be coming in 2000 years latter!?!? ..2 Tim 4: 4. And
    they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be TURNED UNTO FABLES.
    2Thess 2: 11. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12. That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
    or Revelation The First Gospel of The Kingdom
    #3 There is a sharp contrast between THREE groups :
    (1) “PREDESTINED DAMNED” who were NEVER written in the book of life ………..Rev 17: 8 WHOSE NAMES WERE NOT WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD, …as contrasted …EPH 1: 4. According as he hath CHOSEN US in him BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD
    (2) “MANY CALLED”= ONLY and ALL SAINTS (those who come to Christ) are written in the book of life … Philippians 4:3… ……Rev 21:27; (Only saints are Called and elect; Rom 1:6-7 et al) This is THE CHRUCH and ONLY these can have their names blotted out of the book of life ….….Heb 12:23 to the general assembly and CHURCH of the firstborn … WHICH ………are WRITTEN in heaven,
    (3) THE FEW CHOSEN: Those saints who were alive in group #2 who are now physically dead. They died “faithful” these are the FEW that were chosen faithful…….Rev 3:5. ……; and I
    will not BLOT OUT HIS NAME OUT OF THE BOOK OF LIFE, (Ps 69:28) …. These are the FEW that are CHOSEN and now that they have died and are saved then “once saved THEY CAN NEVER BE LOST”

      Jesus ALREADY RETURNED FOR THE “2ND” AND LAST TIME……..There are no more comings of Jesus and the day of the lord does not last for 24 hours!?!…….
      Even Islamic theology is waiting for the second coming of Christ but this is also how we know slam dunk that Muhammad was a false teacher…just like most “bible teaching Christians”…….THE SECOND COMING Thou Fool! “I come quickly” so “Hold fast till i come”… NOT …“in another 2000 yrs I might be coming soon any time now, so hold fast”!?! …those that deny the second coming of Christ in that first generation are practicing a damnable heresy in denying the lord that bought them ( 2Peter 2:1-2 ;2Tim 4:8)…….Mat 7:23..”I NEVER KNEW YOU” …..Mat 10:33. But whosoever shall deny me before men……..sound familiar?…. ……. If I said I am coming to your house in this generation when these things happen but no one knows the day or hour what fool would think I might be coming in 2000 years latter!?!? ..2 Tim 4: 4. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be TURNED UNTO FABLES……. It is a biblical fact according to the bibles own figures that last days are the last 70 years of the number of years between BC596…to AD70 = 666 yrs the period of time outlined once as a MAN and once as a BEAST in Daniel Ch 2 & 7 respectively .as the time the 7 fold (7 seals/trumps vials) curse of the law of Moses was poured out on the physical seed of Israel purified until only a spiritual seed was left…
      Gal 1: 8. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
      The book of Revelation offers us an interesting Theological dilemma. It states Rev 22:16. I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. Revelation also states it is “the true sayings” of Jesus and that it is “the testimony of Christ”. If this is not “the gospel of Jesus Christ” then what is it and should we consider it accursed testimony of an angel? If it is not to be considered accursed, then it cannot be some other gospel message then what was already given previously. However, this is the conundrum, for if this is the gospel message, then why do so few understand it? There is a possibility which few consider but is the overall thesis of this apology. The reason people don’t understand revelation is because they never understood what the gospel message was in the first place! In that case, where does that put those who claim it is not essential for salvation? Do you not find it quite curious that the most “Personally” given NT book By Jesus himself, is the least understood and given the least importance for Salvation in Christendom?….There are numerous preachers and bible exegetes but as Paul said “… I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge” . Most who profess the name of Christ are feeding on doctrines of devils and the ignorant.. There are, without question, many “qualified” teachers and scholars with many years of “dedication” and “solid education”. However, teachers, no matter how well lettered or numbered in degrees; if obtained from others; who are just as equally ignorant in such matters, are just “ blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.”………………

      Those looking for a physical return of Christ and your physical body to “leave the dirt” resurrected (1Cor 15:36-37) you are carnal mined & or living in prov 26:12
      DAY OF THE LORD”/ YEAR OF THE LORD – does NOT last for 24 hours!?!..Also means the day of resurrection & judgment do not last for one hour or one day either! They only begin (NOT END) in a certain hour & on a certain 24 hour day ….”SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS to arise”…..NOT..”come & get (your new resurrected body) it while it is still hot, only 24 hours of solar power left”!?!
      The second coming took place already and Christ promised that only HIS PEOPLE would see him ….John 14:19. Yet a little while, and THE WORLD SEETH ME NO MORE;….. [2 Cor 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ AFTER THE FLESH, yet NOW HENCEFORTH KNOW WE HIM NO MORE….(here the Context of John 14 is his second coming)…..continued…..but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20. AT THAT DAY .. 21. He that hath my commandments, and KEEPETH THEM, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and WILL MANIFEST MYSELF TO HIM……(again taking note “as he is” or 1Jn 3:2)
      22. Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, HOW IS IT THAT THOU WILT MANIFEST THYSELF UNTO US AND NOT UNTO THE WORLD? 23. Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, HE WILL KEEP MY WORDS: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.( Rev 3:20) 24. He that loveth me not.. (1Cor 16:22)…. KEEPETH NOT MY SAYINGS: ( REV 9:16-20)
      REVELATION 1:7. Behold, HE COMETH WITH CLOUDS; and EVERY EYE SHALL SEE HIM, …. There is a parallel here with ………….Exodus 24:10. And THEY SAW THE GOD OF ISRAEL : and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness. 11. And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also THEY SAW GOD, and did eat and drink………..But Christ said….. John 1:18. NO MAN HATH SEEN GOD AT ANY TIME; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. A person can see with their understanding and or see with their eyes…. It can see “seen” for certain that everything that Christ described was seen by the folks of that day in His coming but do they perceive that was him? …So what Christ said is true every eye saw him but the world does not see him….. With the eye they and folks still today can see everything Christ described to have taken place, but they do not “keep” ( believe and understand) his words as such they do not see him nor shall they ever.
      Rev 5:10..and we shall reign ON THE EARTH. (so, you think when Jesus comes back, he and the saints will be “ON THE EARTH”?!?)
      “Clouds ON Venus”……Clouds ON Mars………Clouds “ON EARTH”
      1Thess 4:17…caught up together with them IN THE CLOUDS, to meet the Lord in the air: and SO SHALL WE EVER BE with the Lord……..
      You carnal minded fools, Jesus nor the raptured saints will step physical foot on the earth or physical city of Jerusalem….They live and reign “on the earth” ABOVE FROM the clouds!?! IN FACT, Jesus CAN’T!?!? (Jer 22:19-30/ Mat 1:11)
      Do you realize how schizophrenic it is to claim to be looking forward to going to heaven to be with a spiritual God in a new spiritual city (Heb 12:22/Rev 21:2) to be like the other spirits/ angles are while at the same time looking for a physical Jesus to return on the physical earth to reign in physical Jerusalem?!?!?….. hello?….is anybody home???!?
      The saints who have physical died faithful in the flesh (every man in his own order) are changed in the blink of an eye & caught up to sit on that Great white throne ( this congregation of the saints is the body of Christ that folks will answer to at the judgment and these saints will judge all men who cannot see Christ along with the rest of the world……Folks think they are waiting to see Jesus but they will NEVER see Jesus himself they will only see the body of Christ condemn them the saints judge the world (Rev 3:21; 1 Cor 6:2 et al) the saints are the body of Christ…that is the only part of Christ they shall see….only the saints shall see God face to face…..most peoples idea of the second coming & day of the Lord and the judgment is completely wrong Revelation The First Gospel of The Kingdom
