Trust by David Moody

With a description like that we knew this book would be good, and we were not disappointed. The author
knows well how to capture a reader, and this work is possibly his finest. 

David Moody was born in 1970 and grew up in Birmingham, UK, on a diet of trashy horror and pulp science fiction books and movies. 

He worked as a bank manager and as operations manager for a number of financial institutions before giving up the day job to write about the end of the world for a living. He has written a number of horror novels, including AUTUMN, which has been downloaded more than half a million times since publication in 2001 and has spawned a series of sequels and a movie starring Dexter Fletcher and David Carradine. Moody lives with his wife and a houseful of daughters and stepdaughters, which may explain his pre-occupation with Armageddon.

“Trust” is a sci-fi/end of the world story written around the lives of Tom and Rob, two friends who live in a small English country village. Their lives are turned upside down one evening as Tom is out performing his nightly run. Almost out of nowhere Tom sees a huge alien craft in the sky. He rushes back to the village to see if anyone else saw it, half expecting his experience to be a hallucination.

When Tom reaches the village, he soon finds that not only did everyone see it, but it was all over the news, this was real. The ramifications of making contact with an alien race, sends the characters into a frenzy. The government goes on TV, telling the public not to panic, “the aliens come in peace”. However Tom feels the bad energy. 

This book goes from strength to strength. The story of first contact has twists and turns than a formula one race track. 

Once the characters get over the initial shock of receiving undeniable evidence that life exists outside of Earth, the real story begins. 

Streams of lies and conspiracy flow rapidly through the thrilling main narrative. Often characters are taken by the undertow, questioning even the basic understanding of reality.

We would defiantly recommend this book to anyone who has ever enjoyed a Dan Brown novel. We would go as far as to say that David Moody is possibly a better writer, his book is certainly easier to read than any Dan Brown book. 

So in conclusion; If you like books like “The Da Vinci Code” and films like “Independence Day” this book will fulfill are your expectations and more.
