A Basketball Legend Passes

I grew up as a Boston Celtics fan. The Lakers were the enemy of Beantown. After a decade in California, I am still not a Lakers fan, but I can appreciate what Jerry Buss meant to the Local Angeles Lakers, and to the game of basketball. While the details of his death have not been released (at the time of this postings), we know that we was suffering from cancer.

Under his guidance the Lakers won 10 titles and brought some of the biggest names in the history of the game to the City of Angels: Abdul-Jabbar, Magic, Shaq, and the Black Mamba himself, Kobe Bryant. While he had mostly given up the reins to his son, Jim, he was a part of the blockbuster trade this past summer for Nash and Howard.

A legend has passed.

He will be missed.
