Shows like The X Factor and Big Brother serve only to keep the public content in their miserable lives, believing that one day they really will make it out of hairdressing or factory work and become a big star. By placing stimulus like this in every avenue of our lives, they keep people believing that “it really could happen to me” – newsflash! – it wont, and even if it did, should you really be selling you soul to these blood sucking vampires?

Also in the book, a section dedicated to the character assassination, and eventual physical assassination of free-thought-martyr John Lennon. The ex-beetle stepped too far out of line at a time when the Lords of Perception were promoting war – look what happened to him!

Unlike other authors who deal with this subject matter, Sheridan actually offers some good advise on how to deal with the constant bombardment of propaganda we are subjected to. The Anvil of The Psyche is a perfect follow-on from his last book Defeated Demons and I advise you to read it.
