Man Monkey - In Search of the British Bigfoot

Some of the first reports of this Man-Monkey come from a book entitled Shropshire Folklore written in 1883 by Charlotte S. Burne. In the text she relays a story that involved a strange black creature with great white eyes who jumped out on an unsuspecting gentleman victim. The man tried to push the beast away with his whip, only to find that the whip travelled straight through it. 

Acclaimed ufologist and cryptozoological expert Nick Redfern has finally compiled his life-times research into the Man-Monkey, and made it all available in one easily manageable book, that I personally thought was a real pleasure to read. 

In this publication we learn of many sightings/stories that were reported to Redfern over the years, some convincing, some not so convincing, but all always fascinating. Alongside the main narrative Nick also takes the time to detail his own story…

After firmly establishing himself as one of the most successful and respected authors in the field of ufology, Nick was asked to write a column about paranormal occurrences for an English newspaper. It was while writing this regular column that our author found himself literally inundated with sighting reports of strange dark figures. This, no doubt, played a massive part in re-sparking Nick’s interest and is elaborated upon thoroughly in the book. 

I have to be honest and say that I have a particular interest in this title, because it details many cases from my home-town – which always makes a book more interesting, that said, I genuinely think this one trumps all others for well researched and well presented information. 

We are never going to know the whole truth about the Man-Monkey, but armed with Redfern’s research, you will certainly be in a better position to construct theories.
