The Kabbalah Code - A True Adventure

The teachings of this ancient form of mysticism are hard to find out about, to say the least. I understand that, just like some deadly forms of martial arts in China and Japan, Kabbalah is only revealed to students by their teachers when they feel the time is right. This means that unlike Christianity or Islam, Kabbalah seems to be less rigid in its beliefs and methods.

In this book, James Twyman details his life journey, starting from the premier of his film “The Moses Code”, after which he was faced with a respectful, yet quite angry critic of his work. This critic made Twyman realise that, although his film was generally well received and people, more often than not, agreed with his conclusions – it was now time to take his research to the next level.

Over the following months, Twyman and his very knowledgeable friend Philip Gruber, travelled half way around the world to discover the true meaning of Kabbalah – this publication reveals it all in exquisite detail. From what some might call paranormal experiences with demons imprisoned in statues in Paris, to a more than basic understanding of what Kabbalah really is. I found this book to be very informative and it was made all the more enjoyable by the astonishing story of quirky friendship that surrounds the narrative.

James F. Twyman is the New York Times best-selling author of 15 books, including “Emissary of Light,” “The Moses Code,” and “The Barn Dance.” In 1994 he put the peace prayers from the 12 major religions to music and began travelling the world as “The Peace Troubadour,” often being invited by world leaders and peace organizations to perform the concert in countries at war. He has performed in Bosnia, Iraq, Serbia, South Africa, Israel, Northern Ireland, and many other places. James has also produced seven music CD’s, and is the producer/director of five films, including the award winning “Indigo” and “The Camino of Saint Francis.” He is also the founder of The Beloved Community, a network of spiritual peace ministers around the world, as well as the Seminary of Spiritual Peacemaking which has graduated and ordained over 500 ministers. At present James lives in a cabin near Ashland, Oregon where he leads a very green lifestyle.

If you are expecting a thorough breakdown of Kabbalah, then you will be disappointed. However, if, like me, you are completely new to the subject and just want to get some basic understanding of its belief system – you will find this to be a wonderful book. I imagine as the author learns more, he will write more, and I look forward to following his journey.
