CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Amalgam Publishing

So this is the official announcement calling for submissions in two anthologies: northern California and Wyoming. Northern California in this context is north of San Francisco and Sacramento for a variety of reasons. The wealth of writers in those two areas are so robust that they deserve an anthology all their own. There are a lot of writers north of the Bay who are sometimes overlooked in the tremendous overflow of Bay area writing. That being said a Bay area anthology is most definitely in the future, but right now it is simply rural northern California. We feel like there are a lot of great writers in Wyoming who will really make the anthology a great endeavor.

The question you need to answer when you are considering whether or not to send us something is this: So what? Does what you have created bring the region alive in a way of which only someone from the area is capable. So if it is rural northern California, it should be engaging and have the je ne sais quoi that makes it undeniably from northern California; the same obviously applies to Wyoming.

The anthologies will be in black and white and will feature fiction, poetry, essays, photography, and artwork. If you have something you think we might be interested in, then do not hesitate to send something our way. You can email me at [email protected]. Be sure to format the subject line to read: region-title-genre-form-word count.

The deadline for submissions is November 1, 2013.
