Breaking News, Greenland Ice Sheet Anomaly, Earth Science, NASA and Noah

Scientists using ice-penetrating radar data collected by NASA’s Operation IceBridge and earlier airborne campaigns have built the first comprehensive map of layers deep inside the Greenland Ice Sheet, glacier. New techniques used in this study allowed scientists to efficiently pick out these layers in radar data. “IceBridge surveyed previously unexplored parts of the Greenland Ice Sheet and did it using state-of-the-art CReSIS radars,” said study co-author Mark Fahnestock, an IceBridge science team member and glaciologist from the Geophysical Institute at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF-GI). Another team member, Mac Gregor said “Now, they’ll also be able to work on getting its history right, which is important because ice sheets have very long memories“. Here is the problem with this new data from NASA on the Greenland Ice Sheet: most of that glacier was developing during the Holocene period,(the last 16,000 years) a time of sea-level rise: documented by geologist, Hamelin, Bard, E., Montaggioni, Arnold, M., Faure, Cabioch, G. ,Rougerie ,F, Fairbanks, R.G ,Li, P., Qiao, P., Zheng, H., Fang, G and Huang, G. (See references below) That ice sheet on the surface of Greenland should have been melting: Not Growing Thicker.

If “the sea-level rise during the Holocene period, was from Warming Global Temperatures” as we have been told? How did Greenland stay so cold that a glacier grew there: while the sea-levels around it rose about 300 feet? That is not a question that NASA wanted you to think about, when they released this information. NASA wanted you to look at the pretty pictures and marvel at the technology and say “Wow”.

The last thing NASA wanted you to do is say “Where did the water for the sea-level rise come from if glaciers that covered land were growing at the same time? That does not make sense, because, the Geologists have said ‘the sea-level rise was caused by the MeltWater Pulses during the Holocene Period (the last 16,000 years) came from melting  glaciers that covered land, not melting ice sitting on water’”
