New Book Reveals Remarkable Contributions of the Irish in the Texas Revolution

March 1, 2016, El Dorado Hills, CA – Right on time for the 180th Anniversary of the Alamo’s fall on March 6, 1836, Savas Beatie announced the release of Dr. Phillip Thomas Tucker’s new book, The Alamo’s Forgotten Defenders: The Remarkable Story of the Irish During the Texas Revolution, which brings to light the vital role of the Irish in the war for Texas’ independence.

About the Author: Phillip Thomas Tucker, Ph.D., earned his doctorate in American History from St. Louis University in Missouri in 1990, and is the author or editor of more than two dozen books devoted to the American Experience. His groundbreaking biography on the life of remarkable Irish-Catholic priest John B. Bannon won the 1993 Douglas Southall Freeman Award for the best book in Southern history. Dr. Tucker now writes full-time at his southern Maryland home in Upper Marlboro.
