Federal Workers Still Waiting For Edwards

 Members of The Coalition For Change, Inc. (C4C), a majority of whom are in Representative Donna Edwards’ Maryland 4th Congressional District, voiced concerned over the lack of response received from her office. C4C recently posted an open letter to Representative Edwards expressing dismay. C4C’s founder, Tanya Ward Jordan, states, “We met with the Congresswoman well over a year ago. We shared with her how African-American employees were being wrongfully removed from federal service as managers made room for friends and family members.” According to Jordan, C4C members asked the Congresswoman to write the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) for federal workforce termination data by “race”.  Jordan produced e-mails showing how the group repeatedly requested assistance from Edward’s office. “Some fifteen months later, federal employees facing a chronic atmosphere of racism and retaliation — are still waiting for a copy of Representative Edwards’ letter to OPM” says Jordan. The federal employee advocacy group discloses in the “Open Letter to Representative Donna Edwards” how it was stonewalled despite repeated requests for assistance.
