City of Boise to give Zions Bank $4,000.000.00 to finance new Building

So in these financially strapped times, it’s good business for the City of Boise to put up four million tax dollars so that Zions Bank can build a nice new high rise Downtown. There is a pit in downtown Boise, where several projects have gone bankrupt, due to poor management and other economic woes. Now, Brent Cole, and the Boise City Council, have entered into an agreement to spend tax dollars to clean up the existiung construction site, alll so Zions Bank can put up a high rise there. 

I do not understand how the city has any business financing, with taxpayer dollars, a company which posted over 30 million in profits last year. Is this good for Boise? No doubt, if the building gets completed this time. Is this a good deal for Boise taxpayers? I don;t think so!This is a prime example of corporatr welfare, where the taxpayers are getting stuck with the bill, in order for a corporation to get richer. The Mayor of Boise didn’t ask the Boise taxpayers if this was a valid expenditure of tax dollars, but what’s new?
