Tunisian Man Died After Eating 28 Raw Eggs

A 20 year old Tunisian man died after daring to eat 28 raw eggs. This was reported by a French speaking radio station Shems FM. The man’s name is Dhaou Fatnassi. According to the news source, Fatnassi’s friends offered to give him an “an undisclosed sum of money” if he was able to swallow 28 whole raw eggs. It wasn’t reported if the shells were included but you can really never know this.

After doing the challenge, Fatnassi started complaining about pain in his stomach. Then he went to Hospital les Aghlabides in Kairouan, Tunisia. He wanted to have medical attention but along the process, he just died.

For years, a lot of people have and still are wondering if the popular egg-earing scene in “Cool Hand Luke” can be done in real life. Also, there are those who think if it’s possible to eat 50 eggs and live to tell the story just like what Paul Newman’s character did. However, the eggs he ate were hard-boiled and not raw.

But, Fatnassi’s death simply reveals that the some things should remain fictional. “Let’s hope his example wards off any future daredevils in the egg-eating arena,” says a certain source. Another source says that “eggs can be good but anything that’s too much can become fatal at once and this one story we should always remember.”
