Remington Sells Out To NY For $80 Million “Sniper” Rifles Government Contract

Back in February, several gun manufacturers decided to boycott law enforcement in states that are hostile to the Second Amendment, states like New York for instance. They would not be providing weapons or ammunition. Within a week that number had grown by over 700%. In the first article I provided information for several gun manufacturers that could be contacted to come on board with this boycott, including Glock, Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson and Remington. Well, now we know where Remington stands. They stand on the side of government as they have let it be known that they will be staying in New York and they have now acquired a government contract worth $80 million.
Remington informed New York state lawmakers that they were planning to spend $20 million to upgrade their manufacturing facility in Mohawk Valley. The word was that they were considering moving if New York implemented stricter gun control laws as they have in the NY SAFE Act. Remington had been approached by several states to move.
Lawmakers spoke with Remington about their expansion. The company has received $5.5 million in state incentives over the past five years.
While that is in the past, news has come out from New York Congressman Richard Hanna regarding an $80 million contract. According to his website:

The following Email was sent to Remington, by me, back in Feb. when this story was originally announced. Remington inc. didn’t see the need to reply and thus will get no business from me, my family or any friends that I can convince to purchase another product. Hope others follow suit.
To whom it may concern,
If you don’t stand with the people you can count on not on having any of my business. The Government of New York State has made a decision to bar its LAW ABIDING
CITIZENS from having their choice of firearms and has severely harmed the 2nd amendment not only in NY but across this great REPUBLIC. If your company sticks with
its decision to invest 20 million into a plant that cannot provide arms or ammunition of choice into the hands of the workers of said plant you will loose my business on
ammo and any future rifle purchase I might make. I will also ask all of my friends, family and acquaintances to research your companies decision and make appropriate
responses as well. I am sure they will be happy to respond via email as well as talk to their friends, family, and acquaintances.

Think about it, it was the fallen ones who first showed man how to forge steel into weapons of destruction. All they are doing now is keeping their end of the bargain….

It’s sad to see a great american icon fall to such propaganda, but its past time to choose what side your going to stand on, the ice is getting thin.
It’s sad to see this. Remington was part of a great American tradition, their rifles helped forge this country. Their name is known by people who never even saw a rifle.
Now, to see them go for greed over country, and sniper rifles no less, feels like a true betrayal.
Yes, now we know where Remington stands. Squarely on the face of Patriots and 2nd Amendment defenders. SQuuisssshhhh………..

Sirs,
Upon finding out that Remington Arms has made a deal with the ‘devil’ to sell arms to NY for sniper rifles and accessories in the middle of this 2nd amendment and ethical war upon
the 2nd Amendment that we as citizens and a nation are experiencing, I am resolved as are all of my family and friend’s including most of my gun club to exclude Remington Arms as a source hereafter as a weapon of purchase. There can be no more grey areas gentlemen….. This now stands as a Constitutional premise and not a shareholder issue.
I will further ask for a public apology and accounting of your actions on your website and in the general media. YOU as a primary source of weapons and ammunition for our country and
patriots are showing poor regard and of ethical respect for what is occurring in our government.
What side will history show you and your company to be on when we arrive upon our next decade?
