Philadelphia entrepeneur invents 2-sided PDF printer

In the fresh produce business, Upper Providence Township resident Jim Still, is a living legend, having already “changed the way most of the world ripens bananas,” according to several respected industry websites. “That’s why so many know me as ‘Banana Jim’”, he grinned. “My closest friends call me ‘Nanner.”

‘Nanner is life long a serial inventor.  Some of his earlier brain-children include the first glow in the dark condoms, which were inspired by his original glow in the dark ashtray, and a true master key to unlock virtually any keyed-cylinder door lock.  He’s also filed for patents on a four-eyed baseball batting training device, flying cooling machines (“Jet” precoolers), and new kind of whisky.

Now, he’s announced, he has invented his first consumer electronics product, intended to be marketed both B2B and B2C, the 2-side PDF printer. “I remember the exact instant that the inspiration came to me,” he said.  “So I rushed to my laptop, and googled for one, and also searched webstores at Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and others.  I was shocked to see that no one else had already done this.”

It took less than a week to get from concept to working product, Still explained, “and I decided that I would offer it for free download, my contribution to making the world a better place.”  Still is well-known locally as an angel investor and philanthropist.  “The Still PDF Printer will make a big impact on the Earth that we leave behind to our children and their children,” he beamed.  “When I think of all those people whose emails state at the bottom ‘think before printing this email, the earth doesn’t have enough trees,” he had to pause to wipe away a tear, and catch his breath. 

“With my virtual printer, the user gets a single two-sided output.  For example, for a two page document, you normally get page 1 and page 2.  Now, you’ll get page 1 only, with front and back views of that.”

“And with printing PDFs for the first time as two-sided, instead of as two separate one-sided PDFs, well we can save twice as many trees in cyberspace.”
