Microsoft today unveiled the newest member in its Surface line: the Surface Studio, an all-in-one device, for professionals.
Starting at $2,999 and going up to $4,199, pre-orders open today.
“Surface Studio turns your desk into a creative studio. It is a new class of device that transforms from a desktop PC into a powerful digital canvas, unlocking a more natural and immersive way to create on the thinnest display ever built,” Windows and Devices Group executive vice-president Terry Myerson said in a blog post.
The large, yet thin device can be positioned upright for sketching, or photo editing, or it can be laid flat for drawing on.
The Surface Studio comes with a quad-core 6th Gen Intel Core i5 or i7 processor and the option of 8GB, 16GB or 32GB of RAM as well as a 5.0MP front-facing camera with 1080p HD video, dual microphones and stereo 2.1 speakers with Dolby Audio Premium.
Those who order the Surface Studio will also receive a Surface Pen, keyboard, mouse and power cord with grip-release cable. Free with Surface Studio orders for a limited time is the $99 Surface Dial is a nifty little device that partners with the Surface Pen to give you more creative control over your projects.
“Surface Dial is a new input device designed for the creative process, enabling you to work with both of your hands,” Myerson said. “It integrates with Windows 10 to work with any Surface device for a faster and more intuitive way to scroll, zoom, and navigate. It also enables a set of unique experiences exclusive to Surface Studio, such as app-specific digital tools that allow you to quickly access shortcuts and move seamlessly through your workflow.”
