The use of MEMS microphones will also be found in automotive segments, which support voice commands and hands-free calling. Very high SNR microphones were used by Apple for iPhone 5 in 2012. In addition, other phones such as Samsung use very high SNR MEMS microphones in S4 and Note3 handsets. With the enhanced support for voice commands, MEMS microphones are helpful to applications such as Siri, Cortana, and Google Now. For instance, Motorola Moto X uses multiple MEMS microphones in its handset.
