50 Carat Diamond Earring Pair sold at low bid $17.6 Million

oronto, ON, November 17, 2016. A pair of pear-shaped diamond earring each weighing 50 carats were sold at bargain price of 15.57 million Swiss francs ($17.6 million) at Christie’s in Geneva on Tuesday (November 15). The price fell well short of the pre-auction estimation of 20-30 million Swiss francs.


“Miroir de l’Amour” (“Mirror of Love”) earrings were a key attraction at the “Magnificent Jewels” sale by Christie’s. The Canada Gem Laboratory team analyzed the earrings and according to Canadian gemological identification report, the earring pair bears the largest flawless pear-shaped diamonds in the world. As per the Gemstone Analysis report, these 50 carat Diamonds are the finest laser inscribed Diamonds till date.


The leading international art seller said in a press release its 250th anniversary auction concluded successfully reaping over $97 million.
