Super Model Lily Aldridge Seeks the Help of a Party Bus to Save Her Dress from Wrinkles

We all know that Lily Aldridge is a fashion icon, but if anybody had any doubts regarding how seriously she takes her fashion, it was clear beyond all doubts when the supermodel and Victoria’s Secret Angel chose to go for a party bus rental service for her arrival at the Met Gala 2017. There were other people in the bus with her, but it wasn’t exactly a party that was going on inside the party bus like you would expect. The choice of transport was purely need-based, rather than luxury. Let’s find out what all the fuss was about.

Wrinkles and Fashion Just Don’t Go Together

A party bus Toronto or just about anywhere else in Canada is a fun and safe way to get to a prom party or a graduation party. Especially popular with teenagers and young adults, it isn’t exactly something that you would expect a supermodel to arrive to the Met Gala in! However, Lily Aldridge apparently had no choice but to opt for the expansive limo, because the train of her dress was too long for her to sit in her car without wrinkling it. According to Meredith Melling (from La Marque), Aldridge stood the whole way from her hotel to the Gala, while three of her associates held up the train for her. Things would have been a bit easier, had the dress not been made up of heavy silk which is extremely prone to wrinkles.

Was the Dress Worth the Effort?

The obvious question which comes to everyone’s mind after reading this is if it was worth the effort. It most definitely was. Aldridge was a hit at the 71^st Annual Met Gala 2017 with her white silk Ralph Lauren gown and a pair of red hot thigh-high boots from Balenciaga. The Charmeuse one-shoulder gown had a beautiful flowing long train and bold cuts at key sections of the dress to highlight her beautiful and toned body. Apart from the side cut that highlighted her narrow waist and the very high split at the right thigh, it was the daring slashed panel right in the middle of her bust which stole the occasional glance from the hapless onlooker. Just to add a bit of mystery and contrast to all the bold fashion statements she made, she also wore a translucent fuchsia veil on her face. Jewelry and accessories were kept to a minimum with only a pair of Bulgari diamond earrings, a diamond ring and a Lee Savage clutch.

Was that Too Much?

In most cases, one might think that hiring a limo bus so that a dress doesn’t get wrinkled is too much, but it isn’t as simple as that in this particular case. When you are a supermodel, going to a place that’s one of the biggest fashion events in the whole world, it seems perfectly fair to take whatever means of transport necessary to ensure that your expensive and unique dress doesn’t get ruined. Besides, it’s not the craziest thing anybody has ever done for fashion either, not by a long shot!

It seems like the party bus just found a new field of service to cater to, thanks to this Victoria’s Angel. The dress and the whole getup looked stunning on her, thereby justifying everything. But, it will be interesting to see if this is a trend that gets picked up by others in the industry as there is no shortage of flowing long dresses that can wrinkle easily at fashion events.
