Phil Harris Dies - Deadliest Catch Skipper of Cornelia Marie Dies of Massive Stroke

New York, NY – Discovery Channel announced the recent death of Captain Phil Harris star of the show “Deadliest Catch”.  Phil Harris died after suffering a stroke in late January while in port off-loading at St. Paul Island in Alaska.  The Deadliest Catch Captain dies after a short drug induced coma associated with the stroke.  Phil Harris was Captain of Cornelia Marie which included both sons on the crew as deckhands.  Phil Harris died a respected sea captain in some of the most dangerous work conditions on earth.

His sons made the following statement:

“It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our dad. Dad has always been a fighter and continued to be until the end. For us and the crew, he was someone who never backed down. We will remember and celebrate his strength.”
