Soul Surfer is Getting Married

Two years ago moviegoers spent over $44 million to see “Soul Surfer,” the inspirational story of Bethany Hamilton, the surfing champ who lost her left arm to a shark attack at the age of 13.  By now most people who have paid the slightest attention to the media know it was Bethany’s faith in God that helped her move forward after that.

Now her inspirational story includes wedding plans.  Bethany spilt the beans recently on her Facebook page, “One year ago today, I met an amazing man, now we will spend the rest of our lives together and I’m so excited! I love you Adam!”  The Facebook page does not reveal Adam’s last name, but it has been otherwise identified as “Dirks.”

The two met through mutual friends and Bethany’s church.  She describes a crucial point in their relationship as “Love at first cliff jump,” referring to a 40-foot plunge they took together into the ocean.

Although an exact wedding date has not been announced, it is expected to be sometime this summer.  Until then, Bethany and Adam will be getting pre-marital counseling from a pastor and his wife.
