Viola Davis and Meryl Streep are not only phenomenal actors, but they are also two women who have always stood up for what they believe in and used each platform they received to throw light on social injustices. Over the years we have seen their friendship blossom, but it is when Viola gave a stirring introduction for Streep’s lifetime achievement award that we realized just how close the two women really are.

KARAN JOHAR AND SHAH RUKH KHAN

This duo has had a freindship of many decades and it has come with its own set of ups and downs. Although there have been many speculations about Karan’s sexual orientation and the nature of the relationship he shares with Shah Rukh, in his autobiography “An Unsuitable Boy”, Karan has clarified that SRK is like a big brother to him. Despite all the rifts in their relationship, they are now back to being the best of friends and are closer to each other than every before. 

DHARMENDRA AND AMITABH BACHCHAN

These Bollywood veterans became friends on the sets of “Sholay” and despite Amitabh’s “painfully introvert” nature, Dharmendra claims to have opened up his pal by cracking jokes on the sets. Amitabh credits Dharmendra for his role in Sholay and considers him a friend forever. On friendship day in 2016, Amitabh posted a lovely message for his friend: “Kuch pal yadgar ho jaate hain… Humesha ke liye… (Some moments become memorable forever) Happy Friendship Day.” This message was accompanied by a photo of Amitabh holding a shot of the two of them in their Veeru-Jai avatars from “Sholay”. ——http://www.msn.com/en-in/entertainment
