Swimming Pool With Glass Bottom Floating In Sky Built In China

A swimming pool with the bottom made of glass was built on the 24^th storey of Holiday Inn Shanghai Pudong Kangqiao Hotel in China. The pool protrudes from the side of the building so that swimmers can enjoy the view of the city underneath them, from the height of 24 storeys through the glass bottom of the pool. Thus, the hotel guests feel floating in the sky when they swim in the pool.

The unusual pool was designed by Singaporean architects of Chan Sau Yan Associates, who also designed the whole hotel. The pool is 30 meters long, 6 meters wide, and 1.5 meters deep. The owners did not expose the information about the cost of the construction.

There is a similar swimming pool in the U.S. – in Dallas. However, the American pool does not have a glass bottom – it only has a glass wall that protrudes beyond the perimeter of the building. To swim in this pool located on the 10th storey, one needs to become a guest of five-star Joule Spa Hotel.

There is quite a collection of unusual pools in the world.
