The Silly Lie That Backfired on the CCP

That is, it would be a silly lie if it weren’t so serious, deceptive, and downright terrible.

During its fifteen-year persecution of the Falun Gong meditation practice, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has crafted many lies in order to justify rounding up Falun Gong practitioners and subjecting them to torture in labor camps.  One of the lies, according to Minghui.org, was that Falun Gong had caused 1,400 deaths.

Of course, plain common sense tells us that Falun Gong’s gentle meditative exercises and its principles of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance are not going to hurt anyone.  In fact, studies in China have shown that the practice has excellent physical and mental health benefits.

But the Minghui website has also pointed out something even more ridiculous about the CCP’s “1,400 deaths” claim.

“The Chinese government states that no practitioner is allowed to take medicine,” the Minghui article states. “Any Falun Gong practitioner who dies is therefore included in the ‘1,400 deaths due to psychosis, suicide, and refused medical treatment,’ as he or she would supposedly refuse medical treatment even while dying; the Government here asserts a causal link.”

The article then notes that there were an estimated 70 million people practicing Falun Gong in China when the persecution started in 1999.

“Using China’s mortality rate for 1998, we could expect Falun Gong’s 70 million practitioners to lose roughly 455,000 people to death,” the article states. “According to the Chinese Government’s official statistics then, Falun Gong most likely saved around 454,000 lives in 1999 alone!”

In addition, the “death cases” cited by the CCP were found to be fabricated or distorted.  The Minghui website has reported on these in detail.  This seems to suggest that the officials had trouble coming up with even a few death cases, let alone the expected hundreds of thousands.

In other words, those officials just told everyone that Falun Gong is great.

The CCP has claimed that Falun Gong forbids its adherents to take medicine, but it does nothing of the sort.  The reason many Falun Gong adherents don’t take medicine is because the practice has made them healthy.

Now let’s look at how many deaths the CCP has caused.  Through the persecution, it has killed over 3,500 Falun Gong practitioners, and those are just the ones Minghui.org has confirmed and listed by name.  The real number is suspected to be much higher.

And that’s just Falun Gong practitioners.  The CCP has committed other acts of violence and persecution over the decades that have killed many other people.

Really, it’s not hard to understand why so many Chinese people are quitting the Party these days.
