Chilling Evidence of Organ Harvesting Revealed in New Book

The Chinese regime’s gruesome practice of killing Falun Gong adherents and selling their organs for profit is detailed in U.S. author and China analyst Ethan Gutmann’s new book, The Slaughter: Mass Killings, Organ Harvesting, and China’s Secret Solution to Its Dissident Problem.

China’s organ donor system is negligible, yet thousands of transplants occur in the country every year.  Patients from other countries sometimes travel to China to receive organs because of the short wait time.

In every other country, it takes at least two years to obtain an organ transplant, according to Epoch Times. In China, it takes a few weeks.

This naturally has made outsiders curious about where all these organs are coming from.  China has finally admitted that it uses death-row prisoners, but even these can only account for a small number of the transplants.

In 2006, rumors surfaced that practitioners of the Falun Gong spiritual practice were being killed on demand for their organs, according to Epoch Times. The large number of Falun Gong adherents imprisoned in labor camps could easily account for the number of transplants.

Since then, investigation and eyewitness accounts have revealed that organ harvesting of prisoners of conscience – not only Falun Gong but also house Christians, Uyghurs, and other persecuted groups – is in fact taking place.

Mr. Gutmann spent seven years researching and conducting interviews for his book, according to Epoch Times. The result is a horrifying account of prisoners of conscience who are given blood tests, held captive until someone needs an organ, and then slaughtered.

The victims’ vital organs are removed while they are in a state of shock but still alive, ensuring that the organs are fresh for immediate transplantation, according to Epoch Times.

If the international community hasn’t been moved to action yet, Gutmann’s book just might do the trick.

Gutmann told Epoch Times, “I think the key thing that you’ll find is that not a single reader, anyone who’s read the book, has said the conclusions aren’t there or has questioned my evidence. Not one. That’s key. That is very encouraging.”

“I think that’s why the book does have the capability to change this debate from ‘Did this really happen?’ to ‘What do we do about it?’” he added.

The Slaughter was published on Aug. 12, 2014. Gutmann is now on a book tour in Canada to raise awareness of organ harvesting.
