What’s shocking about that, Jerusalem is in Palestine, no such country as Israel. Israel was a people not a country, a loose group of Egyptian slaves and priests of Amenhotep IV c1’300 BCE. Wiped out by the Roman empire in 70 CE. The people claiming to be Israeli are not, they are Jewish European refugees from WW2, shipped out to Palestine by Hitler, by the boat load to generate perpetual war in the region, and paid for by Rothschild inc. Jewish doesn’t mean Israeli.

It never was, it’s part of Palestine. Of course this has not stopped Israel from doing their best to “occupy” it, and now they are trying to make it their capital.
Why has it not been their capital from the beginning? Cause it was never a part of Israel get it?
On a side note: The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant GOD in all of history: jealous (and proud of it), petty, unjust, unforgiving control freak, vindictive, blood thirsty, ethnic cleansing, misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, philicidal, pestilential, megamaniacal, sado-masochistic, capriciously malevolent “loving” god. This God is Satan and I wouldn’t go quoting the old testament if I were you, in support of anything.
Sorry to disagree Anonymous, but unfortunately you don’t much understand the Old Testament. Without digging deeper, I could see how you feel that way about the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob however. When you take a look at some of the passages, and don’t understand the context of the wars or what was happening at that time, it is easy to pass that judgement. Just understand this, as a Christian, I certainly wouldn’t want to worship who you believe is the God presented in the Old Testament…but I have dug deeper, and have understanding much more of what was going on at that time for God to want to stop and completely wipe out the races mentioned primarily in Deuteronomy and Joshua.
As for Jerusalem never being a part of Israel it is hard to argue with historic fact. Historians can name the rulers, the wars with times and dates for Jerusalem to be a part of ancient Israel.
Palestine on the other hand has no such history. Who were their leaders? Where are their history books? What was their culture like and where can we read about it? What was the name of its capital? What language did they speak? Can you name anything they invented or what they did in the world? The battles they fought and won or lost? How about ancient maps with a country named Palestine? No, those can’t be answered because there was never a country called Palestine. But all of those can be answered about Israel and Jerusalem and all from extra-biblical sources as well.

Please remember in 2002 the WH, Congress and the State Department were controlled by Republicans. The Democrates did not control the WH until 2009. Judge Hendeson is a President Bush appointee.
