Facebook Burns Witches...

Puritans called it “cleansing”. They would handpick individuals from the village and then single them out from the crowds and mark them as outcast of the Bible – enemies of God. They would be charged then tried and in most cases hung or burnt alive at the stake. They were found to be guilty of “witchcraft.”

The witch-hunts of the Seventeenth Century seem long removed, however the mindset of some puritanical thinkers still plagues society today.

On Facebook, a page is designated to spread hate and threatens the physical and spiritual lives of those involved in the practice of witchcraft. For some odd reason, Facebook administration allows this page to attack the religious perspective of free thinkers. The page calls itself “Witches must die by fire.” It boast a Christian banner that “He has Risen.” As you read the entries on the page the moderator(s) engage in an onslaught of radical hostile loathing rhetoric, making witches and wayward Christians its targets.

In and of itself there would be no issue; however, the fact Facebook tolerates such behavior and allows its social platform to be utilized as a tool for hate crimes is despicable. Many people have contacted administration of Facebook, to no avail, their requests have gone unrecognized and the page continues to spew hatred and threats.

I attempted to reason with the moderator(s) of the page only to have my comments censured (disallowed) and my messages ignored.

Why does this bother me so much? Because I have learned much about people, religion and the Bible as an Ordained Chaplain. This site (and its moderator(s)) fail to yield to Gods most important message, “Love one another. As I have loved you (John 13:34).” No Christian is “better” than an individual who follows Wiccan or Buddha or any other form of religion.

The moderator(s) of this site are terrorist(s). They are rebels hiding behind the guise of Christianity and in the shadows of cyber space refusing to reveal their identity, and they use a social platform to advance a message of hate by way of antagonism and physical and spiritual threats in an attempt to actuate, even force and necessitate change, by way of intimidation and oppression. Not unlike extreme radical Muslims who incite war in the Middle East or followers of Adolph Hitler who enforced his Arian rule at all costs.

As a so-called authority of Christian doctrine, this group or individual thrives on the negativity and anger he or she spreads. I have confronted (in the censured comments) the moderator(s) with many basic Christian principals, which he or she seems to feel does not apply to him or her. I question whether this site is not moderated by a Christian considering its nature and the anti-Christian message it sends.

I encourage you all to realize that not all Christians, Muslims, Wiccans, or whatever religious affiliation involve, react in such hateful and crude ways. Any individual or religion that takes up a shield of hate and a sword of threats is not in Gods army. A person of God will be revealed through a true heart-of-hearts filled with compassion and love.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
