Christianity On Trial In Duck Dynasty Controversy

America may be on the verge of a long-needed discussion over the limits of discourse on homosexual acts. Phil Robertson, patriarch of the family that stars in Duck Dynasty, the most popular program in the history of cable television, was interviewed by GQ Magazine, and was asked what in his mind is sinful:
“Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men,” he says. Then he paraphrases Corinthians: “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers-they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”
The Hollywood Reporter chronicles the nearly immediate reaction
A&E has placed Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson on indefinite hiatus following anti-gay remarks he made in a recent profile in GQ.
“We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the seriesDuck Dynasty,” A&E said in a statement. “His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely.”

Who the hell cares if some back azz country freak made some slur about gays, oh that’s right…because the god you call tv was aired to the public.
A persons sexuality is a persons choice, I do not want to know about the exploits of people who don’t fit the norm, just to make it normal.
All this gay stuff being made into law…is residuals , it certainly isn’t about your freedom, or your god given right for choice, it’s about money, and because money is involved there has to be laws involved.
Just like any other death in your family…”things” you own is the problem, partners want their partners crap when they die…but family is the only ones that have rights to said “stuff” so a law needs to be there.
How about common sense
Tv takes your common sense away from you, you are given your opinion, because you want to fit in..
It is a huge deal to not fit in….I don’t understand that, I was taught in school, if the world were filled with people just like me, the world would be boring….but now, everyone want to be like everyone else.

First, he didn’t COMPARE bestiality to homosexuality….he listed them as both what he considers to be sinful…..so that’s just twisting what he said to start a controversy…..
Secondly he HAS the right to determine his own morals! He can choose what standards he wants to live by! I wouldn’t want TV land to dictate mine! All they want you to do is sell sex so they can profit millions…..part of freedom is deciding what moral code you would like to follow or not.
Thirdly, if he feels those things are sinful and doesn’t want to do them WHY is that a bad thing?
Fourthly, WHY does the LGBT community want everyone to be like them??? Are ya’ll the same people who fought for being treated equally? And know you want to treat people like they treated you? If so YOU are just as big of hippocrates as those you condemned!!!!!
Lastly, never once did I hear him say he thinks we should all do as he does. Those are his beliefs. And he has a right to his just as the other side has a right to theirs!!!! This BS political correctness, didn’t fix ANYTHING! It just had the people involved trade sides! And both sides are wrong to make anyone feel, think or believe what THEY say they should!!!!!!!!

I think it may have helped the position on your story had you included some very important things that were said later in the interview. Especially the part when he was asked about judging them and he answered he was not and that he was to love them and let God sort them out. Please tell the whole story and not bits and pieces that are taken out of context. However noble your intentions, by using the same tactics as main stream media to control the thought process of those reading the story, makes you no better.
It really is irrelevant what people think the standards of behavior should be. God has stated those standards, and His word is Law.
“Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind, for that is abomination”.
This man is simply reminding people of the eternal standards for human behaviour.
Those who wish to contest those standards may do so, but be it known that, as Paul states, there is a price to be paid for rebellion against the Most High.
That price is to be thrown into the Lake of Fire at the Judgement, which will come, as sure as day follows night.
Just as the first Judgement, which occurred with Noah’s global Flood, destroyed the wicked of that time, in a finite way, such that their suffering did not continue for ever, so will the second Judgement be. Our God is a consuming fire; and those who oppose Him will be reduced to ashes, as we read in Malachi chapter 4.

Can you please tell me where “God” is so clear? I hope it isn’t the bible that you quote. God in YOU trumps God as told by someone else. You want to say God wrote it but you can’t give a source to back up that assertion. “The Bible says that the Bible is the word of God” don’t wash.
Christianity on trial? What about the people who were verbally attacked? Instead of holding someone accountable for hate, it’s easier to decry the “trial” of his religious beliefs. Until Christians start seeing that we’re all the same and ALL part of Creation, as in not separate from Creator, They’ll continue down the very path they accuse everyone else of following. Wake the F up.
