Ragamuffin The Movie: The Perception Changer And The Life Of Peace (Video).

While browsing through the isles of Family Video I stumbled upon one single movie called Ragamuffin. What caught me was not only the name but the decription on the back jacket cover. The description was about a non fiction life story of Rich Mullins who became very wealthy through being a Christian musician. The cover looked interesting and pretty much anything that is non ficition and tells the life of a musician strikes me to interest so I decided to rent it.

As I put the movie in and watched it for about fifteen minutes I already knew this movie was going to be good one. When I say good I don’t just mean the usual meaning of an enjoyable movie but also just a touching and inspirational movie as well. It’s rare to find a non fiction life story of a Christian man and his trials and temptations as being a musician. In the movie Rich Mullins, a contemporary Christian musician, who played the guitar and piano began his journey as a young boy struggling from an emotional distant father and an outsider from all his other four siblings on a farm in Indiana. He eventually leaves home and attends Bible College and begins to meet new friends and experience a new life. Rich’s Senior year at his Bible College his friends form a Christian band and began to get pretty famous throughout their college and area. To make this summary a little shorter…he basically meets the love of his life and then gets a call from Nashville to write songs for Amy Grant. He ends up leaving to Nashville leaving his lover behind…even though he didn’t want too…and starts a road to fame with trials and temptations on the way. He went through alcoholism, losing a father, loved one, a friend, and loneliness.

This movie touched my heart in so many ways. It’s been a long time since I’ve watched a tear jerking movie. It’s one of the movies where you feel grateful for everything you have in your life after you watch it. I will put some clips below from the movie and some videos of the real Rich Mullins. This is by far my favorite movie now and I highly recommend it.
