Pope: Greed, throwaway culture fuel 'hidden euthanasia' of elderly
VATICAN CITY — Pope Francis warned against the abandonment and neglect of the elderly, calling it a “hidden euthanasia” rooted in today’s “poisonous” culture of disposal and an economic system of greed.
In the presence of his predecessor, Pope Francis also thanked Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI for staying to live at the Vatican and being like “a wise grandfather at home.”
“A people who don’t take care of their grandparents and don’t treat them well is a people with no future. Why no future? Because they lose the memory (of the past) and they sever their own roots,” he said.

That’s really amusing coming from an organisation that started life as a state enforced thought and belief intolerant dictatorship to ensure the great unwashed continue to blindly obey their lord and master, keep paying taxes to the state like good little slaves of the state, and to not mind their rabble rousing in times of war (all the time) so you can earn your lord and master vast amounts of profit at your expense.
It’s one of the reasons why Christianity has died the death in Europe. During WW2 the churches were rabble rousing for their respective lords and masters to go kill for the state, god is on your side, the same churches were doing the same in their respective countries. After the war the question was raised as to how that could be possible. The churches were caught red handed, and it killed them stone dead. It showed them up for what they truly are, nothing but state propaganda organisations for rabble rousing purposes.
