As the barrage of insults and outright lies cascades from Washington, DC it is time for Christian supporters of Israel to follow the lead of Dr. Franklin Graham and speak out courageously and forcefully. We cannot be silent as many were in the 1930’s as the strom clouds overtook Europe and frightened refugees were turned away. The testimony of the camps speaks for itself and the nightmare lives on. Today anyone with a sense of history sees shadows becoming life and the blindness or complicity of many in government and the press are cause for alarm and a call to action. Never again.

The ballyhooed recent conference on worldwide terrorism was scheduled some time ago, mainly to discuss cyber crime and consumer issues. The empty and vague speeches by the President and circular statements by the outgoing Attorney General only add to the less than veiled anti-Israel attitude. Recently, The State Department issued a travel warning for US citizens about Israel. Claiming anti-American violence and upturns in attacks in Jerusalem the State Dept warned Americans against travel to Israel. In truth the violence was at its height in late summer through Fall. Only after the President’s duplicitous dealings with Iran over its nuclear weapons program did the personal insults and anonymous name calling become regular occurrences. This State Dept warning is anther “dirty trick” to punish Israel financially. Don’t fall for it.

Here are some ways to act on this increasing anti-Israel campaign. Contact your legislator or member of parliament. Inform them of your support for Israel and that you are counting on theirs. Organize a petition campaign to have your legislative body issue a declaration of support for Israel. If your college alumni association has brought up or voted on a boycott or divestiture of Israel, let them know you will withhold any planned gifts or donations until the decision is reversed. If you own a company do not interview or hire graduates of the BDS universities. Boycott the boy-cotters. Write or email local news media about your position on support for Israel.

If you subscribe to Dish or other television networks let them know you will switch service if they continue to carry networks such as MSNBC that regularly denounce Israel. Today internet tv is rapidly overtaking broadcast tv. Roku and other systems offer a huge variety of excellent programming, much commercial free and inexpensive. Money talks and loss of viewers and subscribers will take effect on network buying decisions.

If you have scheduled a tour of Israel, go. Show your faith and trust in G-d. Israel is far safer than most American large cities including Chicago (President Obama’s home town). Buy Israeli made goods and products, ask for them in stores, support Israeli charities and nonprofits. Share websites and blog and shopping sites like this one with friends.

The enemy has targeted Christians, Jews and Israel in his insane but well executed path of conquest across the world. The goal is to have all submit or die. There is no middle ground nor neutral stance. Jesus said He came to bring a sword: to have His followers, His true followers make a choice. Which do you choose? As for my house and me, we will serve the Lord. We will stand by Israel.
