Voices for Israel: Rev. Franklin Graham

There was a time in America when the Rev. Billy Graham stood at the side of every American President. The Rev. Graham had begun his ministry preaching a convincing, heart wrenching message of change and repentance at churches, tent meetings and stadiums filled with the curious, the questioners and the damned. Very few left the way they came in. The man just plain believed and could find the words to get you to do so too. He is a father and grandfather and great grandfather as well. As the great man aged he knew that the ministry had to continue within his family and one of his children would take on the mantle. The one who did was the most unlikely, the certifiable “black sheep” of the Graham clan, Franklin. The Almighty enjoys seeing our prideful plans fall apart and using the tire with the most wear on it to drive the truck. That was Franklin.

Being the son of someone whom everyone knows by sight, respects (even grudgingly) and who can act as Prophet when needed to press authority figures on matters of conscience is a heavy load. You are usually not your own man; you are your father’s son. Franklin said “no way”. His years of expulsion from school, bad attitude and other unholy characteristics safely excluded him from taking on the birthright and inescapable public lifestyle of Billy Graham Ministries. But G-d had other plans and soon enough Franklin woke up on the right side of bed one day and kept on going. Samaritan’s Purse was added to the leadership positions for the forceful preacher and today a new Rev. Graham is leading as the Reverend Billy Graham looks on in great satisfaction. The torch is being passed to strong, manly hands and we are all the better for it.

Up until the current administration it was a White House tradition to have Billy Graham visit on occasion and advise US Presidents. No more. The current President’s declarations that the United States is no longer a Christian country, his undeclared preference for Islam, anti-religious activities by taxation and enforcement agencies and a general antagonism towards persons of Jewish and Christian beliefs have all but locked the door on Rev. Graham. The recent anti-Israel and pro-Iran actions are further proof of how a persecution is under way against Biblical ideals and morals. Franklin Graham is unafraid to speak out and name names. No generalities here, he supports Israel from an unassailable Biblical standpoint and this man knows the Bible.

Rev. Billy Graham is a man of firm and unshakable belief. He would gently guide and often chide a Nation that wandered off from Biblical instruction by counseling its Chief Executive. The current occupant of the Oval Office has no need for the Rev. Graham. Another Graham has risen to the task and spares no words about where America is headed and how Israel must be supported and defended. That man is Rev. Franklin Graham, a strong voice for Israel.
