Picking Up Your Cross

GOD’S Paranormal Heartbeat News

PICKING UP YOUR CROSS
Following Jesus Christ means absolutely surrendering your life completely, and wholeheartedly. Making HIS Will priority over your own hopes, dreams and desires.
It means we are to die to self, crucifying the wants and desires of the flesh daily so that we are living our lives holy and righteous to be pleasing to GOD in this sinful and wicked world (ROMANS 9:8/ROMANS 8:14).

It means standing firmly on and proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ and His truth, no matter the cost.
Taking no concern over the loss of your reputation or what people may think of you…the loss of a relationship with a boyfriend or girlfriend, or losing some of your closest friends, alienation from your family, losing your job, losing your pursuits, your possessions or even the loss of your very life if need be. Yes. It’s that deep. Taking everything out and putting Him first.

Many in the churches today proclaim His name but are ashamed of His words which can be found in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John (MARK 8:38/PROVERBS 13:13).
You can proclaim Jesus, Jesus, Jesus all day long until you are blue in the face but if your offended, ashamed of, disregard and being completely disobedient to the very words of whom you profess to follow; then you’re just deceiving yourself and you’re not truly serving and following GOD (MATTHEW 15:8/TITUS 1:16).
As Christians [DISCIPLES OF CHRIST], each and every one of us have been commanded to go out into all the world and share the gospel with every creature (MATTHEW 28:19-20/MARK 16:15/COLOSSIANS 1:28).

The disciples, apostles, and martyrs, throughout history would mourn at today’s Christianity because it’s comprised of mostly pew warmers and lukewarm counterfeit fakes (REVELATION 3:16).
Most of today’s self-centered and narrow minded, self-proclaiming Christians wake up each and everyday living their life only for themselves.
Most neglect to deny themselves and pick up their crosses daily as we have been commanded to do because their lives are far more important than doing the Will of the Father. Most are not living any different than the unsaved (TITUS 1:16). Not only would it shine a spotlight on their own sinful lifestyle but would also make them feel like hypocrites in doing so.
The truth is, as this wicked world continues to get darker many of today’s counterfeit Christians true colors will start to show only unmasking and revealing that most are not truly serving and following GOD.

HE DOESN’T WANT FAKES WHO ONLY TALK THE TALK, BUT RATHER DISCIPLES WHO WALK THE WALK. WHICH ONE ARE YOU?
Whether you profess to be a believer that is still living in un-repented sin or are just unsaved, please drop to your knees and submit your life wholeheartedly to Jesus Christ today. REPENT AND TURN FROM ALL OF YOUR SIN WHILE THERE IS STILL TIME MY FRIENDS (LUKE 5:32/2 PETER 3:9/LUKE 13:3).
(Matthew 22:14) “For many are called, but (FEW ARE CHOSEN)”
(John 12:26) “(IF ANY MAN SERVE ME, LET HIM FOLLOW ME); and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour”
(Matthew 28:19-20) “(GO THEREFORE AND MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL THE NATIONS), baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (TEACHING THEM TO

OBSERVE ALL THINGS THAT I HAVE COMMANDED YOU); and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age, Amen”
(John 12:25) “He who loves his life will lose it, and (HE WHO HATES HIS LIFE IN THIS WORLD WILL KEEP IT FOR ETERNAL LIFE)”
(Matthew 16:25) “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but (WHOEVER LOSES HIS LIFE FOR MY SAKE WILL FIND IT)”
(John 10:27) “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and (THEY FOLLOW ME)”
(Luke 9:23) “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, (LET HIM DENY HIMSELF), and (TAKE UP HIS CROSS DAILY), and (FOLLOW ME)”
(Luke 14:27) “And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, (CANNOT BE MY DISCIPLE)”
(Matthew 10:38) “And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, (IS NOT WORTHY OF ME)”

“It means we are to die to self, crucifying the wants and desires of the flesh daily” What?

Every religion on earth demands that perfection be achieved through some form of personal sacrifice. In fact one of the most significant ways that our fallen understanding has affected the Church is through doctrines that encourage self-abasement.
      Here are some verses we like to abuse;

      • The Kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. (Matthew 11:12 KJV)
      • Whoever loses his life will preserve it. (Luke 17:33)
      • He (Jesus) must increase, but I must decrease. (John 3:30)

When applied under the tutelage of the enemy, these verses encourage us to be violent in our attitudes. It is believed that such a sacrificial mindset will lead us into godliness and we will be spiritually compensated for our efforts. Yet in the hands of man it destroys and denies us genuine life and liberty in Christ.
      A case in point:
I once believed that I could crucify my own sinful nature. God who remained within me was telling me that I had already died with Him in order to receive His best (Gal 2:20). However my commitment to religion had encouraged a belief that told me just the opposite; get busy and die! This false doctrine is rampant in the Church and many define it as “Dying to self” or “Death of self life.” This is where verses such as Colossians 3 get misapplied.

Colossians 3:5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

Yet seeking to be self motivated in the fulfillment of this passage rewrites the purpose of what Jesus did on the Cross and puts the burden back on us. However a true interpretation of how we put off the old man can be seen in the following verse.

Romans 8:13 For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, 14because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

When we allow the Spirit to put to death our sinful works and fallen nature, we are once again trusting in a simple gospel.

Galatians 5:16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

Romans 6:4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

By inappropriately accepting a doctrine of self mutilation, I was actually allowing the presence of another spirit to help me achieve my goals. While in the presence of this power I found that most every aspect of my life and faith were being torn from me in violent ways. I lost marriage, family, jobs, house, possessions, respect, and not least of all, a chance to see Jesus as my refuge.
      When I invited this other spirit into my religion I began to reflect its destructive nature. This added contractual obligations and set in motion a number of damaging conditions;

      • I allowed this spirit to play god and move me around by its own agenda.
      • I had trusted this spirit to help me complete a counterfeit Christian journey.
      • I allowed a seducing spirit to validate my poor doctrinal choices.
      • I allowed a seducing spirit to alter the true meaning of the resurrection.
      • I allowed this spirit to move me towards like minded individuals who were also under the same delusion.

Of course, I was quite arrogant in my actions simply because I believed that my ability to sacrifice would change my Christian destiny. I even believed I was doing right by God and was happy to allow for the full destruction of my property, believing that God’s reward would soon follow. By entering this destructive zone, I had accepted a doctrine of demons that maligned any true understanding of the plan of God. It was not until Jesus showed me the truth of His finished work at the Cross that I finally had a chance to break free of this destructive cycle.
Sacrificing all for the sake of Jesus is honorable within the confines of God’s own grace, but any action prompted by religious self-abasement is a lie which needlessly adds violence and intensifies personal loss. Godly suffering produces righteousness, peace and joy; however self abasement produces a hard and judgmental edge which rates others by a faulty standard of perfection. Self-abasing endeavors have manifested within the Church for hundreds of years, but they have yet to bring about the righteous life that God requires. Paul speaks of this very deception:

Colossians2 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ…. 23Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.
