State of the Union 2016: Obama’s Glaring Omission

Each year in January we have come to expect a State of the Union address by the sitting President. This is an inescapably religious act, filled with appeals to authority and morality. Both appeals are rooted in some kind of religious, metaphysical worldview. This year was no exception.

President Obama appealed to “Our unique strengths as a nation – our optimism and work ethic, our spirit of discovery and innovation, our diversity and commitment to the rule of law..,” yet gave no hint of where those ideals originated.

Our optimism is not based on the dreary ideals of secularism that says we’re merely a meaningless accident of time and space, a cosmic joke signifying nothing. No, we inherit our optimism, work ethic, and even our scientific innovations, from our Puritan DNA. They got their ideals from the Holy Scripture which calls us to have moral and intellectual dominion over creation and subdue it for God’s glory.

Christianity allows for tolerance and diversity under the rule of law. Obama’s Marxist secularism could never produce or allow for dissent or individual rights. Modern history proves that. Don’t look to Mecca, either.

So Obama swims in an ocean of liberty based on Christian ideals and values, yet regularly belittles and undermines Christianity. He even takes the side of sexual anarchists while his administration undermines the religious liberty of Christians and military chaplains.

This is the most “gay” State of the Union in history. Obama bragged, “we secured the freedom in every state to marry the person we love.” Yes, a tyrannical US Supreme Court forced an unconstitutional opinion on the nation in violation of the laws of nature and Nature’s God on his watch.

True law is from above and transcends all of us. Law comes from God just as much as our rights come from Him. An autonomous Obama has cut himself off from God’s law and with it the ability to distinguish between diversity and perversity.

By the way, there are still limits on marriage. Statutory rape, pedophilia, incest and polygamy still rightly define some kinds of “love” as illegal. If Obama were consistent he should be denouncing these limits as un-American too. It was not so long ago that sodomy was considered to be just as abhorrent. Sodo-matrimony will not last, history and eternity both stand against it.

One last observation: there was a glaring omission from the State of the Union address. The words “abortion,” “reproductive healthcare” or “pro-choice” were NOT in the speech, neither was Planned Parenthood. This is significant because Obama just vetoed a bill defunding Planned Parenthood. Why didn’t he bring it up? This means we are winning! He dared not even broach the subject because it is a loser for him.

Obama didn’t have any trouble bringing up other liberal issues: “Fixing a broken immigration system. Protecting our kids from gun violence. Equal pay for equal work, paid leave, raising the minimum wage.” All were dutifully applauded by the President’s own party, BUT there was no mention of killing innocents in the womb.

The silence is deafening!!!!

Lawless Obama appealed to “the rule of law” while ignoring The Lawmaker. One day Obama will answer to The Almighty Lawgiver and Judge, as will we all. My prayer is we will come to our collective senses and realize God is not mocked, hopefully before it’s too late for our nation. If we don’t repent soon we will reap what we’ve sown, just like we did in the Civil War. In the meantime, we will fight to truly once again live up to our national motto and be “One nation Under God!”
