Called by Christ from heaven, and laid low upon the earth, from a persecutor, he became a chosen vessel, and, laboring more than all others, sowed the grace of the Word more broadly among all, * and completed the teaching of the Gospel by his preaching. V. Last in his calling among the Apostles, but first in preaching, he made the name of Christ manifest to the peoples of many nations. And completed the teaching of the Gospel by his preaching. “persecutor” Who do you mean exactly? Do you mean the Roman empire? If so you’re wrong, Rome didn’t persecute people for their religious beliefs, in fact Rome was uber tolerant of peoples beliefs. They persecuted subjects of Rome when they rebelled against Roman rule, not over their religious beliefs. It’s very typical of Christians to claim persecution where there is none and especially where they are being the antagonist. I recently saw a cartoon that summed up militant Christians perfectly. The first image depicted a Christian attacking someone by beating them over the head with their cross while accusing them of being evil for not being a Christian , and the second image showed the someone breaking the cross over their knee with the Christian shouting ‘persecution’. Perfect depiction of a Christian.
