How Much Longer?

Ever since Rev. Miller took his congregation to a hillside to wait for the coming of the Messiah back in the mid-1800′s, it seems there has always been an interest in the Second Coming ever since with many people predicting dates and times when they believe the Messiah will come.  As I get older, I too am waiting for the coming of the Messiah wondering just how much longer we have to wait.  I wish I could write this post today and say definitively when I think the Messiah will come.  But I can’t.  It’s not that I won’t or that I know and won’t tell anyone, but that I can’t because I simply don’t know.  I have written about what my Angels told me about my own death.  I will live to see the arrival of the Messiah.  This is really all I know.  I will NOT die.  I have already faced death twice in the past five years, knowing that I have had brushes with death a number of times in my 60 some years of living.  But I will NOT die. 

Now, having said this, it’s easy then for me to say that I have no fear of death or dying.  I fear pain, yes, but I do NOT fear death.  This is partly why I am fascinated with horror movies.  What I don’t like are movies about human beings that inflict pain and death on others.  These are known as slasher movies or thrillers or any combination including being in the horror genre.  I think the fact that I was told by my Angels that I will not die is part of the reason for my fascination with horror movies and even to some degree sci-fi movies about the paranormal and other worldly entities.  But my fascination really comes from trying to understand the genre from a perspective of knowing that I am NOT going to die.  And since I believe my experience with my Angels is related to the paranormal, I am fascinated by anything that simply can’t be explained, whether real, or made-up in the mind of a writer or a creator of such phenomena. 

It’s just that as each day passes, I know I have work to do for the Messiah, but the fact is, that I along with many others are simply wondering how much longer we have to wait for the Messiah to come.  I am not tired of living.  In fact, life and living fascinates me every single day.  I am fascinated by the world.  I am fascinated by technology.  I am fascinated to learn about the new models of automobiles that come out every so often.  Even at my age, I am finding this to be a fascinating time to be alive.   But then every day brings too much bad news into my life as well.  I can only take so much of the bad news each day.  But I live with the Hope that I claim my Angels gave to me.  This Hope is that I will live to see the arrival of the Messiah.  I keep thinking that my body is aging.  We begin to age the moment we enter into this world.  I am at once fascinated by this world and then horrified by the things I observe.  I enjoy some of the things of this world now.  But at the same time, I can’t ignore the pain of life and living that is in this world every day.  I only wish I could say WHEN He will come, but the reality is that it could very well be most any day now.  It’s the best I can do.  I am Brother Ralphie writing for my Angels from The Angels of Life Institute.  Peace.
