-Trump Ends Government Funding for International Abortion

One of President Trump’s first acts in office was to end government funding for international groups providing abortions. Here’s the story from the Christian Post:

President Donald Trump signed an executive order to ban government funds for international groups that provide or promote abortion, which reverses Barack Obama administration policy.

LifeNews reported the executive order reinstates the Mexico City Policy, which eliminates funding to certain groups, including some Planned Parenthood affiliates, around the world or requires them to agree that they “would neither perform nor actively promote abortion as a method of family planning in other nations.”

The policy was first announced in 1984 by former President Ronald Reagan. Every Republican president since Reagan continued the policy. The Bill Clinton and Barack Obama administrations rescinded it in their first week in power.

Response: Regardless of what you may think about Trump, we obviously now have a pro-life president. That alone should provide a major reason for evangelical Christians to be happy with the outcome of the 2016 election. Remember that not only was Hillary Clinton pro abortion but had clearly stated in the campaign that she wanted to force Christians to change their beliefs and teaching on this issue.                 *Top
