ESSENTIAL AND NON ESSENTIAL DOCTRINES OF CHRISTIANITY

According to many so-called Christian preachers, there are essential and non essential doctrines of Christianity.

Gal 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Presenting the following false message, namely, in essentials unity, in non essentials liberty and in all things charity represents a nonsensical teaching.

2 Tim 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness

To have the audacity to claim that there are essential and non essential doctrines of Christianity, is simply a ludicrous statement.

The teachings of Jesus have been replaced with the traditions and doctrines of men. Knowing of Christ, and Him knowing you are very different. But how are we able to enjoy a personal and intimate relationship with Him?

 2 Peter 1:20-21 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.  For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

The answers men seek are contained in the Word of God; they are only a mystery to those who are not sealed by Christ through the Baptism of The Holy Spirit.

ESSENTIAL AND NON ESSENTIAL DOCTRINES OF CHRISTIANITY ON SALVATION

If any man does not have the Spirit of Christ or the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, he can not be of Christ. We must be transformed by Christ to put on the Mind of Christ.

1 Cor 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Our Lord said the “words that I speak they are Spirit and they are Life” (John 6:63). The teachings of Jesus Christ can only be understood when His Spirit dwells within us.

2 Tim 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

To deny the power of Christ is to make the false claim that we are Born Again.

2 Tim 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

The evidence of denying the power that Christ offers, through His Holy Spirit, is proven when people are oblivious to the very fact that they are deceived.

John the Baptist proclaimed that are two Baptisms. One of them is unto repentance, and as a result of the other, we can have the assurance of Salvation through the Holy Spirit.

Luke 3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

Christ spoke plainly when He said, unless you believe and are baptized you shall not be saved. He did not say you are saved, but you shall be saved. We can have Assurance of Salvation through Him alone.

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

So when we combine Luke 3:16, with Mark 16:16, and Romans 8:9, It is evident that whosoever believes in jesus Christ, and is baptized with the Holy Spirit shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be damned

Matt 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

1 Peter 1:9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

An essential doctrine for the luke warm church is, for it is by grace you have been saved, through faith… (Eph 2:8 NIV).

Those who are devoid of the Spirit of truth teach immediate salvation, and the deceived believe it.

So then, obviously the inspired teaching of Jesus on Salvation as found in the following New Testament verses must be non-essential doctrines (Mat 24:22, Mark 13:30, 20, 1 Pet 4:17-18, Luke 21:28, Rom 13:11, Eph 6:17, 1 Thes 5:8, Heb 9:28, 1 Pet 1:9).

Also, the essential and non essential doctrines of Christianity must prove that the following Old Testament scriptures are discretionary as well (Isa 25:9, 51:6-8, 61:10, 62:11-12, Lam 3:26).

ESSENTIAL AND NON ESSENTIAL DOCTRINES OF CHRISTIANITY ARE CONTRARY TO CHRIST’S WORD

Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

We are to live by every word of God, and therefore we cannot have essential and non-essential doctrines of Christianity.

Luke 11:28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

And how are we able to keep the word of God?  We need to trust in Christ, draw near or continually approach Him and humbly submit in all things to his lordship over every area of our lives (Eph 1:12, James 4:6-7).

James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

We are to seek after the kingdom of God and His righteousness, in a continual and diligent manner, without ceasing. The reward that we seek should be that of our Redemption and Salvation upon our Lord’s return, but more often than naught it is materialistic in nature (Matt 6:20-24, 33, Rom 8:23, Eph 1:13-14).

The essential and non essential doctrines of Christianity represent yet another religion.

All believers are to study the teachings of Christ, so that they may be able to directly and correctly understand the word of truth. We are not to let so-called pastors perform this task for us.

2 Cor 2:17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

One of the most important teachings of Jesus Christ is that it is the Spirit of Truth that enables us to truly receive and walk with Christ.

2 Cor 4:2-4 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

The Holy Spirit witnesses or confirms the truth of Jesus to us. It also empowers us to be a true and faithful witness to others with an authority that only Christ offers.

2 Cor 4:3-4 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them…

Many, if not most, are taught that becoming Born Again is a process related to the following events:

• To simply know of Jesus, and to recite a sinners prayer.
• To attend a church, tithe and obey the Sabbath.
• This same group usually claims to have the infilling of the spirit.
• They also believe that as a result of reciting Acts 16:31 that they are saved.
• The problem is that without any evidence to support the transformation associated with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, the claim is false.
• Also believing in the deceitful but very popular salvation deception doctrine prevents the Holy Spirit from working in the deceived.

Gal 6:7-8 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.  For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; buthe that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

ESSENTIAL AND NON ESSENTIAL DOCTRINES OF CHRISTIANITY ARE THE DOCTRINES OF MEN

Mark 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

When our hearts and minds are focused on Jesus Christ, and the reward that we seek is eternal life with him, we are kept from the power of deception (Mat 6:21, John 17:15, 2 Thes 3:3).

Eph 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Mark 7:7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Great deception within Christianity occurs as a result of biased interpretations, made by impostors that have an appearance of Godliness.

Mark 7:8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

The self-righteous and hypocritical doctrines given by these impostors should prove that they deny the true power of Christ. However many want a messenger that will allow them to be comfortable in their sin; these simply wish to be lulled to sleep (2 Tim 3:1-9, 2 Tim 4:3).

Mark 7:9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

To proclaim that there are essential and non essential doctrines of Christianity is to give authority to professional manipulators to distort the gospel truths as they see fit.

Romans 16:17-18 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.  For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

He that is not with me is against me, and he that does not gather with me causes the sheep to be wasted (Luke 11:23, John 10:12).

We were warned that the time would come wherein many would not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts, they would gather unto themselves teachers that would present cunningly devised fables. That time has arrived (2 Peter 1:16, 2 Tim 4:3).

Those who receive their Biblical insight from the teachings of men, who have the spirit of this world, are on a very slippery slope. The doctrines of Jesus are revealed to us when His Holy Spirit dwells within us, and we are to observe all things that Christ has commanded (Matt 28:20).
