Bible Story of the Day

Scripture is the story of Jesus, from Genesis to Revelation. There are over 400 prophecies and representations of Jesus in the Old Testament alone. The Old Testament pointed forward to the coming Christ, and the New Testament points back to Jesus. The Bible is a record of redemption through Jesus Christ who conquered sin and death when He died on the cross and resurrected three days later. The New Testament was written almost 2000 years ago. Some of the Old Testament was written over 4000 years ago. The Bible Story of the Day not only shows Jesus throughout scripture but shows how scripture is relevant to our lives today. Seeing Jesus in scripture is a major step into understanding who our God is, and how He impacts and affects our lives in every moment. I pray that the Holy Spirit opens your mind to understanding the verses and how they affect your life and gives you a better understanding of our Lord Jesus Christ. I will post a link to the chapter that each passage is from, so that you can read further on your own.

For Everyone

Isaiah 49:6

He says, “It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant
To raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved ones of Israel;
I will also make You a light of the nations,
So that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth.” (NASB).

Where is Jesus and What Does This Mean to Us?

This is a beautiful verse. This verse shows God’s heart long before Jesus came to provide salvation to all people. God is speaking to Isaiah in this verse telling him of when Jesus comes. Jesus will be the light-bearer to all nations in offering salvation. The order in which this will occur is first with the Israelites, which are the physical descendants of Jacob, renamed Israel by God. Jesus will then make the same salvation available to the Gentiles, which consisted of everyone other than the nation of Israel. The final proclamation is that every person to the end of the earth would hear and receive salvation from Jesus. This last verse parallels Acts 1:8, “but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” (NASB).

There are many people to this day that believe God only cared about the Jewish people in the Old Testament and was not interested in reaching the Gentiles. This is completely false. We are all God’s children. We are all made in His image. He chose a certain group of people, the descendants of Jacob, to be His chosen people. They were not chosen so that they could sit around and have the Gentiles serve them and bow to them. They were chosen to be the messengers of God and spread His word to everyone. If you believe this or have questioned this line of thinking, I challenge you to ask yourself why God would be planning on bringing the Gentiles into the fold 600 years before Jesus came to offer everyone salvation? God wants to save all people, but He is going to wait 600 years or longer before starting? That doesn’t fit His actions in any other instance in scripture. God has constantly been pursuing us; ever since He found Adam and Eve hiding in the garden, full of shame.

What does this mean to us? It means God’s plan was for everyone to receive salvation. He has been working for thousands of years to fulfill this plan. God has perfect timing and has immeasurable patience. He sent Jesus to the descendants of Jacob first, because that was His promise to them and He wanted to get them back on track. Everything has an order of operation and that is how He chose to do it. Even if the Jews would have received Jesus, the message of salvation still would have been delivered to the Gentiles. We are not God’s consolation prize. We are not second-rate citizens in God’s Kingdom. We are His children made in His image. You are special. You matter. God loves you and gave up His only son for you. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done or who you think you are, right now the God of this world wants a relationship with you because you are that important to Him. Do not let anyone tell you that you are anything less. They are lies from the enemy. We are the children of a King.

      what you wrote below is your opinion — it can not be backed up by the Old or the New Testament.

      “”I challenge you to ask yourself why God would be planning on bringing the Gentiles into the fold 600 years before Jesus came to offer everyone salvation?

      Because Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ the Door to salvation would finally be open to the gentiles.

      Joel 2;

      28 And it shall come to pass — afterward, —[that] I will pour out my spirit —- upon “all” flesh; — and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

      29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

      Acts 2:

      16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

      17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

      18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

      Before Jesus Christ came only a tiny few were called and used by God, finally at the Feast of Pentecost the prophecy of Joel was fulfilled –50 days after Jesus rose from death.

      “God wants to save all people, but He — is — going to wait 600 years or longer before starting?

      “That doesn’t fit His actions in any other instance in scripture.

      Really, when did He began to save gentiles and what about the millions in Noah’s day and even now to day only 1.5 out of every 7.5 folks claim to be even slightly christian.

      produce the scriptures showing God has been attempting to save every last person on earth: what about the infants and little kids Moses was ordered to put to death when Israel went into the Promised land?

      What about the millions of abortions today and the little kids blown to bits in the middle east and else where? What about the Muslims?

      My Father’s sister was killed at four years of age — what happens to her? was God trying to save her but sorry she died, too bad.

      “God has constantly been pursuing us; ever since He found Adam and Eve hiding in the garden, full of shame.

      That is just not true if it were then God is not very good at salvation is HE?

      In Abraham’s day it was Abraham, his wife and son only. Gods’ Chosen began with ONE MAN, the whole world lived and died not having an opportunity for salvation.

      And here in Matthew Jesus Christ tells His Disciples — to you it is given — to know the mysteries of the kingdom but not to the others it is NOT given!! and Christ only drew 120 out of the tens of thousands He spoke to and performed miracles upon and the 120 were not converted and given the Holy Spirit until Pentecost 50 days after Christ rose from the grave.

      10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

      11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

      12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

      13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

      seeker your bible “stories” are just that — stories based upon how you want things to be —– not what the Word of God actually teaches.

      I love TRUTH not fiction.
