Bible Story of the Day

Scripture is the story of Jesus, from Genesis to Revelation. There are over 400 prophecies and representations of Jesus in the Old Testament alone. The Old Testament pointed forward to the coming Christ, and the New Testament points back to Jesus. The Bible is a record of redemption through Jesus Christ who conquered sin and death when He died on the cross and resurrected three days later. The New Testament was written almost 2000 years ago. Some of the Old Testament was written over 4000 years ago. The Bible Story of the Day not only shows Jesus throughout scripture but shows how scripture is relevant to our lives today. Seeing Jesus in scripture is a major step into understanding who our God is, and how He impacts and affects our lives in every moment. I pray that the Holy Spirit opens your mind to understanding the verses and how they affect your life and gives you a better understanding of our Lord Jesus Christ. I will post a link to the chapter that each passage is from, so that you can read further on your own.

God and Man

Zechariah 13:7

“Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd,
And against the man, My Associate,”
Declares the Lord of hosts.
“Strike the Shepherd that the sheep may be scattered;
And I will turn My hand against the little ones. (NASB).

Where is Jesus and What Does This Mean to Us?

This single, powerful verse has four prophecies of Jesus contained within. There is not one wasted word in scripture. Every word has meaning and was placed there specifically for a purpose. The one prophecy and telling of Jesus that I want to focus on in this verse, today, is that Jesus is God and man. The story from yesterday, “Born of a Virgin, is a perfect prelude to this verse. Jesus was born to a virgin. This was the only way a man could be born and not inherit the original sins of his fathers, going all the way back to Adam. When you hear the phrase: “we are born into sin”, this is what they are talking about. We are born sinful because of our father-Adam. Jesus’ father was not a man, rather it was God. Adam and Jesus are the only two men to exist that were not born of a human father. Jesus was born out of sin; therefore, He did not have to atone for His own sin.

This verse tells about Jesus being sacrificed for His sheep. The verse is God speaking about “His Shepherd” and against the man. The reference tells of Jesus as God’s shepherd of the people, but also identifies the human, mortal aspect of Jesus. The sword will be drawn against Jesus. This can be taken literal as referring to the spear that pierced His skin, or also as symbolic of the Jews revolting against Jesus and killing Him. Jesus is the Son of God, and Jesus is one with the Father making Him God, as well. God cannot be killed, so Jesus in God form cannot be killed. The only way to solve this was for Jesus to be God and man. He would be perfect and sinless because He is God, and He can be sacrificed and killed because He is man.

What does this mean to us? It means that we do not have to die for our sins. It means that we no longer have Adam as our father. We can accept the adoption of Jesus and He will become our spiritual father. We will no longer be condemned to death because of what Adam did. We will be given life because of what Jesus did. The concept can and may sound crazy, but what we are witnessing is true love. God planned to sacrifice Jesus so that we would not have to suffer His wrath for our sinfulness. It is a perfect plan. There is nothing that we need to do, could do, or have done to be loved by God this much. Our salvation is within arm’s reach, waiting for us to grab hold. Jesus was born perfect, because we were not. Jesus sacrificed Himself for us, because we could not. The table has been set for all that believe and there is room for all of us.

I am not trying to be an adversary I am simply pointing out where you differ from scripture.

What does this mean to us? It means that we do not have to die for our sins.

T/S: — we do not have to die for our sins because Christ died in our place. Sin demands the death penalty – period there is no pardon.

It means that we no longer have Adam as our father.

T/S– as long as we have carnal human nature in us Adam is our father as all humans inherited Adam’s nature.

We can accept the adoption of Jesus and He will become our spiritual father.

T/S: Gentiles are adopted into the House of Israel, they must become Israelite’s to gain eternal life, those of the 12 tribes are not adopted they are the seed of Jacob and Jesus Christ is our elder brother not our Father. Jesus Christ and those “born from above” at the first resurrection above have the same Father.

We will no longer be condemned to death because of what Adam did.

T/S: we are condemned to death for our own sins, not for the sins of the fathers – that is Torah Law. Jesus Christ died because ‘WE’ SINNED, not because Adam sinned first.

We will be given life because of what Jesus did.

T/S: Because Christ paid our penalty of death we can gain eternal life– if we endure until the end, and if we obey our Master Jesus Christ we can be in that First Resurrection.

The concept can and may sound crazy, but what we are witnessing is true love.

T/S: that Hebrew word “love” in not emotional — it means “loyal”, what we are witnesses too is the absolute Loyalty of our Father and His Son.

God planned to sacrifice Jesus so that we would not have to suffer His wrath for our sinfulness.

T/S: from before the universe was made Christ knew He would have to die for the sins of the world. Carnal human nature hates every thing God Is and does. All sin is against the Father and there are none good no not one.

It is a perfect plan. There is nothing that we need to do, could do, or have done to be loved by God this much.

T/S: Seeker please read the words of Jesus Christ— that is not a true statement – period. Here is one: “Why call you ME LORD LORD and do NOT the things I say”. We MUST obey our Master: the Father and Jesus Christ will not have any born into their Holy Family that refuse to allow them to rule over them. More of what is required is listed at the end of this comment.

Luke 19: 27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

Our salvation is within arm’s reach, waiting for us to grab hold.

T/S: we of our own selves can do nothing – the Father is the Master potter and we are the clay – the Father does it all we must be “willing” and even the willlingness is a gift from our Father.

Jesus was born perfect, because we were not.

T/S: Jesus was born without sin, but He could have sinned as He was flesh and blood, Christ was filled with the Holy Spirit which gave Him the power to resist the temptations of the flesh. Christ had to over come just like we must overcome.

Jesus sacrificed Himself for us, because we could not.

T/S: We can die for our sins and there are those that refuse to obey and they will be cast into the Lake of Fire and they WILL pay for their own sins. Only the Maker of mankind is able to die for the sins of all mankind.

The table has been set for all that believe and there is room for all of us.

“Faith without works is dead being alone.”

Belief is proven by works — without works faith is nothing.

14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, —- is dead, — being alone.

      Just believing is not enough,

we must drink the blood and eat the flesh of Jesus Christ.

      We must be converted.

      We must obey our Master.

One final comment: this is not the only day of salvation— if it were then God is weak.. even now out of 7.5 billion alive on earth today only about 1.5 billion even “kind of” claim to be Christian. If one and one half out of every 7 and one half have the possibility of salvation —- would you call that a success?

What happens to the 6 billion?

If a small percentage of humanity receives salvation, let’s say 144000 just for example. They would spread their influence to others on a subconscious level. After a couple of few generation, most of humanity will be righteous.

Like they say, “the essence of darkness is just the absence of light”.

Many battles were lost and won between good vs evil ever since the beginning. But Grace says lost battles matter not because the Cross has already won the war.

Question 1= Is everything in the world about perception??

Question 2= Is everything in the universe frequency, energy and vibration?

Question 3= Does the human body translate energy, frequency and vibration? example, eyes turn energy into light and ears turn vibration into sound.

Question 4= Does the heart turn energy into emotions?

Question 5= does the brain store memories also turn energy into thoughts?

Question 6= Do human beings have 1000s of thoughts per day, usually they are thinking about one’s own past or one’s future, normally about betterness in some sort of way?

Question 7= If a new born baby has little memories for a few years, would you say they spend most of their consciousness time in the now. Instead of drifting in the past or future with thoughts?

Question 8= If Gods spirit comes down and gives one salvation (peace) and Gods truth (perception). Would it be by resetting ones owns consciousness back to when one is a child? Silent all those thoughts, so one becomes awareness with memories just like when we were young children?

Final question= Is it possible, that everything about good vs evil is about negative and positive thinking. Sin is what biblical scripture described as negative thinking?

Anyway, when God sent us his only son and sent him the holy spirit. When Jesus who could not sin, when he could not think negative about any other human being. When Jesus SHINED is light, shined Gods grace. The world actually turned on him like pure darkness. When Christ returns, how do we prevent the world from doing it again. How would we know he is the reincarnation of Christ because many may believe that he is the anti Christ or something.

        Your questions are good ones.

I am not a scientist but I do study the Word of God diligently.

Here is what my study has revealed as Truth.

The first Covenant/contract was a physical contract for a physical people with a physical law and physical promises.

The New Covenant/contract is a spiritual contract for a spiritual people with a spiritual law and spiritual promises.

A person can do the right thing for the right reasons and it is righteousness.

Or they can do the right thing for the wrong reasons and it is sin.

God does not have a “religion”, God has a “WAY” and that WAY produces only good/righteous results i.e. peace, joy, happiness, contentment etc.

That ONE WAY is revealed in the Torah.

Not living God’s WAY always produces pain, suffering, and death and the “ways” of mankind always have and always will produce pain suffering and death.

The Holy Spirit is not an entity not a separate being; it is the “essence” of God His power, His immortality – God IS A Spirit.

No one including Jesus Christ is reincarnated, Christ was resurrected from death to Spirit and all those in that first resurrection will likewise rise from the grave with the same exact immortal Spirit body as Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ could have sinned, but as He was filled with the Holy Spirit He had the power to resist the temptations of the flesh – and as those that have been called and converted have only a small measure of that ONE Spirit sometimes the temptations of the flesh can cause them to sin.

Negative thinking produces negative actions i.e. Sin.

When Jesus Christ returns as KING of Kings every person that is still alive on earth will see HIM coming in Power and Glory that is beyond the mind of man to understand.

Some will turn to fight Christ and Jesus Christ will slay millions of them.

The remnant of the 12 tribes will be in captivity scattered through out the gentile world and will return to the Promised Land by a Second Exodus to fulfill God’s promise to Abraham.

There will be possibly 50 million or more of God’s People that will return and inherit the Promised Land and they will have been converted by the end of the great tribulation thus they will have the Holy Spirit in them.

Satan and his fallen angels will be put away for 1000 years thus they will not be around putting temptation in the path of God’s People and the remnant of the gentiles. After Christ returns only 10% of the 7.5 billion on earth now will survive wha is coming.

The 1000 years is the promised REST from sin, the Sabbath of REST.

And as Jesus Christ will Rule as KING of Kings and LORD of Lords He will rule with a Rod of Iron — those that refuse to obey His Holy Law will be cast into the Lake of Fire.

There WILL BE 1000 years of peace

        • xredsx

Trust, i could go all day with these sorts of questions, I kid ya not, I truly have experienced salvation.

I am no scientist, nor i’m educated, prove with the lack of grammar.

I don’t know much about the bible but my perception of it makes complete sense due to my experience.
And trust, the kingdom of God comes from the inside and not the outside.

And yeah, the holy spirit is not a singular entity but is part of us. it is either our intuition or it at least speaks through the intuition in a way. Coz everything is coming intuitively to me.

Plz, with the love of God, what can you tell me about baptism. Especially Jesus story on the matter. I am baptised but being baptised when a small child is not a pure intent. I don’t know what i don’t know, and i would like to know before i follow my intuition on being re-baptised.

          • Truthseeker

            xredsx

Christ and the Apostles never baptized a child nor did they teach it, it is for mature adults.

Baptism is joining Jesus Christ in His death, burial and resurrection, symbolically.

The first step in the salvation process is repentance.

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and (then you can) ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost i.e. Spirit.

one must repent i.e. quit, thus sin no more “willfully” and sin is the transgression of the LAW. ! John 3:4

Next one must be put under the water i.e. baptized.

the next step the majority in so called christianity do not do and that is; on by the Laying on of hands one must receive the Holy Spirit of the Father.

8 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given,

xredsx you will have a hard time finding some one that will assist you as most just think all one has to do is just believe.

My advice is to go to our Father on your knees every day, not every so often but every day and ask He send you one of HIS elders and the Elder of God will teach you what you need to understand and then when you understand what you are doing he will baptized you and lay hands on you and you will be converted – the Father and the Son will dwell in you by that ONE SPIRIT.

I also will ask my Father today to send you a man of God.

You should not be concerned about agreeing with me or with any man but you should be very concerned about agreeing with the Word of God.

      • seekthetruth

        No worries about that lol.

        • Truthseeker

seeker would you like to have inconsistencies pointed out by using scriptures that contradict what you include in your bible stories as truth?

I have always asked folks to point out faults in my logic and the scriptures I use — none do — they just attack me.

We are told to Prove all things which I do daily.

I do not have it all — but I earnestly desire to know the TRUTH as much truth as my Father will allow me to know at this time.

          “No worries about that lol.”

What? You mean you’re not trembling in your boots? LOL! It is funny, isn’t it?

1 Corinthians 2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Another good article. You display spiritual maturity, seekthetruth. I thought you may enjoy the expression of this doctrinal concept you likely already realize, but a reminder that we HAVE eternal life. We are already eternal in our true lives, that Spirit of Christ in us. If one has the Holy Spirit, the part of us of that Spirit and that grows in our spirit cannot die. The only way a human being perishes is to not have that eternal life, is to not be born again, of course perish an ominous word, in terms of the judgement and wrath of the Lord falling on a person and hell. A person is going to continue to exist, the question is where. Note that the Bible also refers to the unregenerate as dead, in trespasses and sin, though they appear to be and are considered alive, by the world’s standards.

But we can rejoice, in that we already have that life, are not waiting to die, rather waiting to be redeemed from the flesh, put off that old man in glory. It’s a matter of experience to me, that I know (epignosis) that Person in me and how I’ve developed, by His hand, know that part of me cannot die. We already have that earnest of eternal life, that seal of the Spirit, Ephesians 1:13-14.

This realization, many years ago, freed me to understand further spiritual truths, like nothing else, that living reality of God’s presence, pointing out that we, born of the Spirit, already live on a different level the rest of scripture speaks to, are very much of another world, as beings, something especially Paul speaks to, in great detail, but the whole of scripture speaking to the Christian not being of the world. We are not of the world because of Christ in us, quite simply.

John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have [present tense] eternal life.

John 10:28 And I give [present tense, not "will give"] unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. [the child of God has the gift of eternal life as we speak, again, He gives, present tense, then states they cannot be plucked from His hand: one already glorified would not be subject to being plucked, at all]

John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know [here eternal life is defined, the only way to know God is by His Spirit, the Spirit of Christ] thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

And, suddenly, this verse is understood:

John 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

One cannot be born again of God, then killed, as surely as God does not take back the gift that He gives of eternal life, God’s promises without repentance. We’re alive! And you’re quite right that life is nothing we could, of ourselves, achieve or merit, anymore my coming to realize all things good are of the Lord, great and small, every single day, His life in us very life. Praise His holy name, Jesus!

you are teaching the Nestorian heresy….this was long ago rejected by the church. To say that Jesus was half man and half god makes him a demigod. If this is true, then he only was half sacrificed on the cross, and only half the atonement offerings were made to the Father. Or it means that the divine nature was diluted by the human nature, or v.v…The Law said that a sacrifice on the four square altar of the Tabernacle could not be sliced up so that only part was sacrificed. This was the sin of the high priest Eli, and why he was set aside. God wanted the whole sacrifice, not just a boiled thigh piece so the priests can have the other part as lamb stew for dinner. His sons were given over to corruption because of his compromise such that they were not suitable for the priesthood. 1 Sam 2:17: “This sin of the young men was very great in the LORD’s sight, for they were treating the LORD’s offering with contempt.” (see 1 Sam chapts. 1-7)

The correct teaching is that Jesus is 100% God and 100% man, 100% of the time. I can’t understand it, but I can accept it. The best metaphor I can come up with to explain it are that every coin has two sides that are distinctive, while still being one coin. Heads or tails? Depends on which side you are looking at a given time….Any teaching other than this dilutes or reduces either the divine nature of Christ or the human nature of Christ. To make Jesus out to be a demigod is to treat the Lord’s offering, Christ, with contempt.

The church split over this. The church broke fellowship with the oriental orthodox churches, the Armenian, Syrian, Coptic, Chaldean, & Ethiopian churches, over this heresy. The schism/split has never healed. See Nestorianism on a Google search for details.

So, where did the author break it down to unacceptable percentages you somehow must have found in scripture? Is it that you don’t like the little diagram, as if it’s the mark of the beast or something? Do you also have a dog, that barks at the wind? Do you Christians, presumably a very few of you, never tire of disputing, trolling against other Christians trying to express something edifying, which this article does? And, speaking of error, have you not declared Erdogan the antichrist, many times? Did you get that from scripture, or from some popular charlatan that sells books you’re duped by and foolishly parroting? Isn’t there some heresy you’re going around, claiming to reveal the antichrist, when scripture states he’s not yet revealed? Do you share a gene with KOS or something? Don’t you know better than to even make such claims, and why not? The fact is, you incessant disputers are a bunch of spiritual babies, trolls, a real bore to read. If somebody said water is wet, you’d say wet water is of the devil.

        Physician, heal thyself.

If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; he is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. 1 Timothy 6:3-5

If, as you have made clear in the past and now, all of the 40,000 kinds of churches are all within THE true church of God – all having strong disagreements concerning doctrines, how then can you accuse me or anyone of espousing false doctrines?

I fully admit I have rejected all 40,000 flavors, but how does that logically make me wrong? Because I am number 40,001, that makes me wrong?

What doctrines must one hold as Truth to be accounted as a member of the body of Jesus Christ — according to you?
