Bible Story of the Day

Scripture is the story of Jesus, from Genesis to Revelation. There are over 400 prophecies and representations of Jesus in the Old Testament alone. The Old Testament pointed forward to the coming Christ, and the New Testament points back to Jesus. The Bible is a record of redemption through Jesus Christ who conquered sin and death when He died on the cross and resurrected three days later. The New Testament was written almost 2000 years ago. Some of the Old Testament was written over 4000 years ago. The Bible Story of the Day not only shows Jesus throughout scripture but shows how scripture is relevant to our lives today. Seeing Jesus in scripture is a major step into understanding who our God is, and how He impacts and affects our lives in every moment. I pray that the Holy Spirit opens your mind to understanding the verses and how they affect your life and gives you a better understanding of our Lord Jesus Christ. Wisdom of God

Isa 29:14

Therefore behold, I will once again deal marvelously with this people, wondrously marvelous;
And the wisdom of their wise men will perish,
And the discernment of their discerning men will be concealed.” (NASB).

I Corinthians 1:18-19

For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. ¹⁹ For it is written,

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
And the cleverness of the clever I will set aside.” (NASB)

Where is Jesus and What Does This Mean to Us?

Do not ever let someone deceive you that salvation is a difficult and complex process. Do not let those that do not understand confuse you by adding more to the simplicity of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The wisdom of God exceeds all our wisdom combined. If you were to create an object, would it then become more than you? The creator is always greater than the created. The verse in Paul echoes Isaiah in 1 Corinthians. Isaiah prophecies about the coming Christ, and how the men considered wise in their time will not and cannot understand the wonders of God. Paul continues the message by stating that the words from God, scripture, will not make sense to the worldly wise. The ones that are perishing are the non-believers. They use their own rationale to interpret something that goes beyond their understanding. Their pride will not allow them to admit that they do not understand. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ cannot be rationalized. The concept and process are greater than us. That is part of believing in an all-powerful God. Simply because we do not understand does not make it impossible.

The wise men of Isaiah, Jesus, and Paul’s time are no different than the wise men of today. These verses are timeless. Today, our wise men use science as the fact-checker for everything. If it cannot be explained by science, then there is no way that it can be real. The discernment of these conclusions shows the foolishness of the ideology. Science in general does not prove anything. It merely gives the best logical conclusion. The wise men of today cannot understand scripture, so they must rely purely on what they consider scientific “facts”.

What does all this mean? It means God is bigger than we can understand. It means God is wiser than any of us. He knows all, sees all, and is all. In His infinite wisdom, He understands that we cannot understand Heavenly things because we do not understand earthly things. John 3:12, “If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?” With the complexity of all the things in the world that we cannot possibly understand, there is a simple thing that we can understand. The simplicity of the Gospel can be understood with faith. There is no proof in this world that we will ever have access to that proves Jesus died and resurrected. The proof is in our hearts. It is in belief. Belief that Jesus is God and God can do anything He wants because He is the Creator. Salvation comes through that belief in Jesus. We do not need degrees. We do not even have to know how to read. We do not have to be scholars or preachers or educated. The wise men are too smart for their own good, but true wisdom comes in believing in the power of God. Paul sums up this idea in 1 Corinthians 2:6-7, “We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. ⁷ No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.”

Do not get caught in the traps of the foolish. Instead of searching for proof of God’s existence; search your heart for the belief in God. Pray to God that He allow His Holy Spirit to reveal the truth to you. You will never find what you seek otherwise. Tap into true wisdom, the wisdom of God.
