Ninth Station: Jesus Falls for a Third Time:

We adore you O Christ and we praise you

Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world.

I read a quote about this station and it summed up perfectly how I felt. It is so mysterious how one heart speaks to another so perfectly in tune.

“I pause to contemplate him there on the ground. The brokenness that makes me whole. The surrender that gives me life. I pause to experience and receive how completely he loves me. He is indeed completely poured out for me. As I treasure this gifted experience, I express what is in my heart.”

Our faith is expressed with the heart. I feel God’s presence, I feel his care. This is not a fickle emotion but a reality as I deepen my relationship with Jesus in prayer. Prayer is emotional, just read the psalms! What we express to Jesus in prayer is often our frustration, our horror at why bad things happen to the innocent, how terrible illness is and death too. we express our loss and our sadness, while expressing too our joy and thanksgivings! Jesus on the ground under the weight of the cross tweaks our emotions. We have invested our very selves in our faith. That is how it should be.

Jesus, as you fall a third time under the cross grant me the courage, to engage in my faith, and wear it in every circumstance of life, bad or good.

I love you Jesus my love above all things…
