The Arrival of the Shepherds.

The shepherds left their fields

They never did that, not even for the Sabbath

an angel proclaimed a word and that was enough

off they went all of them, walking towards a stable!

They knew there was room for everyone at that table.

Some talked as they walked, others were silenced by fear

the light was on in that stable, “there was a glow of pure love”

that’s what Jacob said when he approached the entrance.

An open visage, a reflection of the most ornate monstrance.

One by one they reached the door and feel to their knees

shepherds adoring that was rare, but they did, adoration ensued

holy angels looked towards them, “leave your fear at the door” they sang

Joseph stood tall, Mary serenely sat beside him, a manger was in front

heavenly angels filled that place, it was as if the whole of creation sighed.

And there he was, the baby, that tiny fragile infant, love had truly arrived!
