The true nature of purity.

Innocent means not having taken part in sin – which is the corruption of the flesh, the mind, the soul.
The possibility of corruption was laid out by God when he said “Do not…etc”
That statement also proves the existence of free will.

You choose to do or not to do that which is right or wrong.
You create of yourself a demon or saint, and that’s the way you become what or who you are,  by choice, not someone else’s, but your own. 
It takes two to tango but it takes one to sin.
We know little about genes but the fourth generation suffers from the effects of sin, therefore there is a genetic change.
If it were not so, Christ would have no need to die for our sins. We could just repent and be forgiven. But this sacrifice was required to heal the damage and this damage is genetic. Genes are extremely spiritual.
What they call junk genes, 90% of them, because they cannot fathom what they do, are actually spiritual effecting genes.
Christ’s death, through faith, heals our genes. It’s supernatural. 

Whilst I don’t know the whole story the above is sufficient to prod us to take sin seriously and not something trivial or easily overcome by our own efforts alone. We must put our faith in Christ to be truly healed, and the Ten Commandments must be fully implemented.

Christ came he said, to fulfill the law not to abolish it, to make up in his own flesh and the sacrifice of his flesh that which we lack in our ability to fully obey the Ten Commandments, and we do this by our faith in Christ.
Yet righteous people existed before his death?
Yes, and Christ said, “I came to call sinners, not the righteous.” Luke 5 32; Mark 2  17.
Yet we are all, 99% of us, at least, sinners perhaps?
Faith will bridge the gap, when combined with repentance.
