Polish Presidential Plane Crash: Explosives Found In Wreckage
Rzeczpospolita, a leading Polish newspaper, said it has seen a report from Poland’s Central Forensic Laboratory and Central Bureau of Investigation saying experts found traces of TNT and nitroglycerine on numerous bits of the wrecked Tupolev Tu-154 including 30 seats and sections of fuselage.
The story received wall-to-wall coverage in the Polish press, adding fuel to conspiracy theories that the aircraft was downed by a bomb rather than the official explanation of pilot error.
But a Colonel Ireneusz Szelag, from the military prosecutor’s office, said investigators had found no traces of explosives. He explained that certain chemicals, which could be related to explosives, had been detected but it would take further analysis to determine what they were.
The plane, carrying President Lech Kaczynski, his wife, the commanders of Poland’s three armed services and dozens of leading politicians, crashed as it came into land at a fogbound Smolensk airport in April 2010. An official Russian report placed the onus of the disaster on pilot error, a conclusion supported broadly by a Polish investigation published later although at the time Poles did not have full access to the wreckage.
But the reports failed to quell persistent claims of foul play.

Literally pointless to even type up the story no one had any doubt it was a KGB action.
