La. Environmental Atty. Mysteriously Dies
Denham Springs police told WBRZ News 2 Friday that they are investigating the death of a Baton Rouge-based envionmental attorney who was former assistant attorney general and city prosecutor.
“Detectives and the parish coroner confirmed Wilbert Jordan Jr. was found dead in the Magnuson Hotel on Rushing Road in Denham Springs early Friday morning,” WBRZ reported.
The officials refused to describe the circumstances of his death.

Investigators said they were looking for a woman Jordan was seen with as a person of interest in the case.
“We believe she may have been the one who made the call for emergency medical assistance, but she was not there when officers arrived,” police Cpl. Shawn Perkins said. “So, we’re trying to find out who she is and tie up any loose ends.”
Jordan, an environmental attorney from Baton Rouge, served as Assistant Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality.
He was involved in statewide preparations and environmental damage assessment during hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
His website states under “Services”: “The Jordan Law Firm can provide property owners, developers, Brownfields redevelopers, lenders, and others with the necessary assistance in dealing with contaminated properties and land use restrictions.”
Jordon was a member of the Mississippi and Louisiana State Bar Associations. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biology from University of Southern Mississippi and a law degree from Louisiana State University (LSU).
“There are no signs of foul play,” Perkins said. “We’re just not ruling anything out until we get the autopsy.”
The autopsy will be performed this weekend, according to Perkins.
“Former DEQ Secretary Hal Leggett said Jordan had a welcomed sense of humor and brought a momentary escape during long days of recovery from hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005,” The Advocate reported. “Wilbert was a pleasure to work with as a teammate at LDEQ,” Leggett said.
“He always had a smile and you could count on him for a good joke,” remarked Leggett. “He was a good public servant. He will be missed.”

Nothing to see here, move along.
He was a a “legendary” civil rights leader in Waynesboro.
From the information here I can conclude nothing except that he is dead according to authorities. Was he on vacation with this woman in a hotel? Was he married to a mean and jealous woman? Was he involved with a case? Was he for us all going back to the stone age, or was he a sensible environmentalist? Something tells me that we are not getting any of the information that a real article would normally present.
