Three Arrests Latest on the Boston Marathon Bombing Investigation

In the wake of the April 15, 2013 Boston Marathon Bombing, The FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) arrested three men with connections to suspected bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (deceased) on May 1, 2013.

The two men, Dias Kadyrbayev (19 years old) and Azamat Tazhayakov (19 years old) both live in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The third man, Robel Phillipos (19 years old) is a US citizen living in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Kadyrbayev and Tazhayakov Complaint

In the criminal complaint posted by the DOJ (Department of Justice), Kadyrbayev and Tazhayakov were charged with “conspiracy to obstruct justice by conspiring to destroy, conceal and cover-up tangible objects belonging to suspected Marathon bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, namely a laptop computer and backpack containing fireworks”.

Both men are Kazakhstan nationals who gained access to the US through student visas. Each man faces a “maximum sentence of five years in prison and $250,000 fine”. The complaint states, that the men “intentionally obstructed justice in connection with the Marathon bombing investigation”. (1)
