Boston Bombing Twist: Ibragim Todashev Killed by FBI; Roommate Tatiana Gruzdeva Quietly Deported

In May, Ibragim Todashev was killed during an ‘interview’ in the apartment he shared with Tatiana Gruzdeva, a 19-year-old potential witness, who has since been quietly deported reportedly for ‘overstaying her student visa.’ Gruzdeva was arrested on May 16. Six days after her arrest, Ibragim Todashev was killed in the apartment they shared.

Ibragim Todashev reportedly implicated himself in May, along with Boston bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev, in a gruesome 2011 triple homicide before he was killed during a confrontation with law enforcement in Orlando, Florida. The wildly conflicting media reports on the death of Todashev do not help to ease the suspicions of family members and those following the case. 

Although the FBI is conducting a ‘review,’ of the shooting, there seems to be a conflict of interest in allowing the agency to investigate itself. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is ‘conducting its own review of the shooting,’ and wishes to speak with Gruzdeva ‘about the FBI’s actions in the days and weeks leading to Todashev’s death.’

Hassan Shibly with CAIR, who is conducting it’s own review of Todashev’s death, said that the group is ‘very interested’ in speaking with Gruzdeva. 

‘We’re very curious as to why the government’s put so many impediments, in trying to get her out of the country as soon as possible. There’s a very good likelihood that she has important information.’

As far as Tatiana Gruzdeva, at least one source, RT, cites the details surrounding her departure from the United States. Sacchetti notes, ’Immigration court officials under the Department of Justice, the same agency that oversees the FBI, refused to disclose details about her case, citing their controversial privacy rules.’ Sadly, the mainstream media does not seem to be interested in asking tough questions in the Ibragim Todashev case, or the case of Tatiana Gruzdeva.

The quiet deportation of Tatiana Gruzdeva can be added to the list of unanswered questions surrounding the Boston Marathon bombing.
