November 13-14 2013 In the unlikely event of an EMP attack, it seems that nearly everyone from former DHS director, Janet Napolitano to former CIA director, James Woolsey have discussed the possibility of a grid take down through an EMP attack.

Further, the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Commission in their,NERC PowerPoint presentation, stated that one of the possible outcomes of an attack will be a “prolonged blackout…”

An electrical grid joint drill simulation is being planned in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Thousands of utility workers, FBI agents, anti-terrorism experts, governmental agencies, and more than 150 private businesses are involved in the November power grid drill.

Its a very worthy thought and something to prepare for.  I’m not sure there is a precedent for such a situation but now more than ever the power grid is burdened by man’s energy needs. Ive been throught a few major blackouts in the northeast and because I lived in such a small town, the blackout was fun as hell.  It was very interesting to see how people reacted.  In this case everyone was very helpful and neighbourly.  There were no incidents and everything was nice and civil until the power came on again.  Sometimes the power was out for hours…  as in more than 6.  This is a conspiracy theory Ive seen for alittle while now, usually to be cause by an EMP weapon from somebody somewhere.  I guess we will have to see what happens.  -Mort
