Update: What is going on in Oregon & Washington? Fifteen "Explosions" registered in the last 7 days on the USGS Earthquake site.
Update 5/12/2015:
Looking back for the last week, there were 15 ‘Explosions’ registered in Washington and Oregon. All of them were in odd locations and on the water. If you zoom in on any location, you will see that there is no mining or quarry operations going on. Many are located in wooded areas.

I see the diamond shapes listed on the maps every day and those normally mean that a quarry blast has happened and they are always in the same area. I happened to notice a larger than normal diamond in the center of Oregon. When I zoomed in on the location, Prineville, OR, I noticed that instead of being listed as a quarry blast, it was listed as ’2.3 Explosion’ at a depth of 0.0 miles. I have not noticed that term being used before. Further research reveals that there have been 8 ‘Explosions’ in Oregon in the last 7 days and 3 of them yesterday all ~2 hrs apart. Not sure what is going on, but you would think that an explosion big enough to register 2.3 would make the news………NOT! Not even the local news out of Bend reported it. Even stranger is the location of the event in Prineville. It was in a field just to the west of a large Les Schwab tire distrobution center. Not sure why you would have a large distro center in the middle of nowhere-ville. Check out the difference between the image from the USGS and Google maps of the same location.
Could be siemic testing……..but you would think it was enough to wake up this sleepy little town and cause significant damage to the adjacent buildings 500-750′ away….apparently NOT!
